Two units - same time - same resort! Can you book it now?

I just got off the phone with a Wyndham "Vacation Planning Counselor" and was unable to book two units at the same time at the same resort. I wanted a 2BR and a 1BR because a 3BR was unavailable. She, the VPC named Angela, said that I couldn't do that.

Is she right? Is this a standard practice? Is there no way around this? What's my recourse? Anything?
Thanks,
EZ Ed

Sounds fishy. There must be more to it than this? As long as you have the points and the availability is there, you should be able to book whatever you need. I have never heard or read anything that would indicate otherwise. Have you tried to do it online?

If in doubt. Call back. Since you use up a reservation, it would be worth doing everything you need to on the same day.

Not true

Thats not true, I do it all the time. I have 3 units booked right now for the same resort at the same time.

I suggest you call back but speak to Owner Relations or just try another rep.

You need to speak to someone else. I have booked 2 units several times in the past, and have 2 units booked for December in Daytona.
Good Luck-
Deb

2 units same time is not a problem. But you will need to purchase GC for the other unit. They will NO LONGER allow you to have 2 units at the same time, both in your name, within 15 days of checkin. This rule is a new rule that came into effect at the end of last year. So book 2 units now, and just make sure you add a GC at least 3 weeks prior to checkin.

Situation cleared up

As the OP, let me report that the situation has been resolved. I called Wyndham back and found that, yes, I can do both units at the same time, but I need the guest certificate, just as Sandi mentioned.

Let me add another layer to the story.

After booking the two units, I found that I had chosen the wrong arrival date. I called Wyndham back and, naturally, got a different VPC. I explained my error and, after talking with her supervisor, she was allowed to work it out for me to regain my points as regular, not cancelled, points. It was a courtesy; they didn't have to do it. It was the decent thing to do.

Later tonight, I called back and booked with those returned points a 3BR at Ocean Blvd. We didn't really want to go back there again next year, but it is what we'll have to do in 2010. There are a lot worse things that can happen in life.

I talked to three VPC's today. The first one was not informed and gave me the wrong information. The other two (Sandra and Marsha) worked very well with me and were very helpful. I thanked them tremendously for their work. I'm convinced that there are good people out there, but we need to allow them to do their job.

In conclusion, a vacation was planned today. Life is good.
Thanks to all. Enjoy life.
