Turtle CAy Resort Virginia Beach

Hi,

In June of 2008 I came upon Turtle Cay Resort, It looked nice , clean and a nice family environment. We used it for 2 seasons. However this year My Son , His wife & % year old daughter were given a room facing a wall, NOT the pool side promised by the sales team. At 18,500K for a one bedroom with full kitchen & Living room w/Balcolny 1/2 block from the beach. Well He was very upset that He did NOT get the room that was sold to us. To our surprise, when we called they told us the Little tiny "F" on the contract Meant "floating" which mean they can give us any room they desire. this is BS, This was NOT what they sold us. Another thing happened this past July at the resort. In the middle of the Night and Huge Drunken guy with a gun was banging on the dooe (3am) My son told him he had the wrong room. He went away only to come back an hour later with a gun an scuffle broke out into the hallway at 4 am and My Son & family were scared for their lives. That was IT we told turtle CAY this week we did not want this typr of environment. We go to very quiet Resorts and the quality of People had gone way down, We want to "give it Back" . Well they said they will GArnish my salery etc, put a lean on my Home of 50 years etc.... THEY DO THIS? CAN ANYONE HELp ME.

Is your timeshare fully paid for?
If so, you can put it on the market. If your deeded week is prime season (summer), you can still get couple thousand dollars. I saw one on ebay weeks ago, it was sold for that amount.
If you are still owe something (has loan balance for it), you cannot get rid of it or cannot deed back to resort until you pay for it.
Sales people always lie to sell, you should not have trusted what they said.

That is freightening and very sad too!!! I heard Turtle Cay was a lovely TS to stay in at Virginia Beach...REading your post makes me wonder. But his can also happen at any TS or hotel.

Turtle Cays response RE: violent happenings at property

Yes, I suppose it can happen anywhere, However they Blew it off, which infuriated us. 3-4 in the middle of the night with a 5 year old in the room and the man had a gun, They never called the police, their property security handled it, This WAS a matter for the police, Period......

And NO , we still owe 15,500.....Yes WAY TOO MUCH. I DID NOT KNOW WE CAN EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER PLACE.. HOWEVER WE JUST CANNOT AFFORD ANY OTHER PLACE, MY mother is 80 and was sick for the last 8 months with shingles. She just financially cannot do it any longer and want to just give it back. can we do this at turtle CAY??
