ts real estate broker?

When selling a timeshare, is there any advantage in using a ts real estate broker instead of posting an ad and using a closing company, especially for a newbie?

You can do it yourself and save a great deal of money. Don't pay any upfront fees. Companies that make money with such fees have no incentive whatsoever, once they have your money, to sell your timeshare. Many of these companies will not even make an effort to connect a possible buyer to a seller, even though the seller has paid the fee.

The broker I am considering takes his commission after the sale. What I'm wondering is if there are gaps in what a closing company does for you during the sale process that a real estate broker would fill in?

It is actually the opposite, the broker will find a buyer but not handle the closing. Closing companies do not find buyers but handle all other aspects of the sale.

The biggest advantage of using a TS Real Estate Broker who gets paid on commission without an upfront fee is they take care of everything for you. They charge a lot, but if you don't know how to sell your timeshare, then it's not a bad option.

Certainly, it's far better than going with a post card company that will charge you for taking your timeshare off your hands.

When looking to purchase I did notice that many people both advertise privately and list the same unit with one or more brokers. Not seeing this in regular real estate I found this a little surprsing. So trying to actively sell privately and through a broker at the same time is commonplace and may be worth considering depending upon your selling timeframe and how much effort you want to put into selling.
