I have been with Diamond for over a decade now, and have had pretty good experiences with them. I've tried helping people in this forum by responding to questions people have, and now I need help - I am just getting the runaround from Diamond.
I bought into Diamond because I owned a few weeks at ILX resorts purchased on ebay before Diamond purchased ILX. I was on my visit, and purchased some ILX points to bring my prior ownerships into "The Club." That was about a decade ago. Fast forward 7 years, and on a visit to Sedona Summit, I made a purchase where Diamond took back my ILX points, and added US Collections points. I have around 16,000 US Collection points now. With that purchase, Diamond brought 3 of my deeds into "The Club." Those weeks are still deeded weeks. (There were also 2 non-DRI weeks that I could use Club Select each year to get more club points - but that is actually irrelevant to this post.)
Fast forward 3 year - to about 2 weeks ago - I tried to return the 16,000 US Collection points to Diamond through the transitions program. I have to do that through the contract number, not the account number. The contract includes 3 deeded weeks, the 2 Club Select/Combo weeks, and the 16,000 US Collections points. I was hoping to only return the US Collection Points, not the deeded weeks. Based on the emails that have gone back and forth between me and Diamond, it doesn't seem I can return just the US Collection points because the Contract includes the deeded weeks.
So the question (finally
) Does anyone have any experience with anything like this? I did make the purchase in Arizona for the US Collection points, so I am trying to understand if there is some way I can force the issue with Diamond to get them to take back that "account" which has a different account number for my deeded weeks.
And then - if there is no way to get Diamond to take back these 16,000 points, does anyone know if I would be allowed to give away (assuming someone would take them) just the US Collections points? Diamond seems to be saying that now the US Collection points are tied into the deeded weeks.
My end goal is to keep my deeded weeks (preferably keeping them in "The Club" as they are now) but get rid of the US Collection points account.
Any advice/help would be appreciated.
