Hi - have not stayed in any of the properties so I'm trying to decide which property is better, nicer and kids friendly.. Looks like room wise, they are both nice, but looks like the Elara is more updated/modern. And from reading reviews, looks like the Elara is connected to the mall and easy access to casinos if we wanted to go to casinos while the HGV on the Strip is on the strip, but towards the end pass Circus Circus... Which one do you like better and why.

Also want to know if Elara has easy access to parking lot and dont have to walk too far to get to the car. Just curious since it is on busy side of Las Vegas.

Thanks everyone!

Hi Elara is connected to the mall where there is free and convenient parking. It is a great location. Within walking distance to great restaurants, shops and several nice hotels.

Thanks for the tips and the threads. I read them and were very helptful.
We do have kids, ages 12 and 16. And they do enjoy the pools a lot BUT since we are there for a soccer tournament and will not have much time to do a lot, the Elara seems like a good choice since it is in the middle of everything and we can walk to the mall to shop and some restaurants if looking for somewhere to eat.

I have stayed at both, and while both are nice our favorite is Elara. We seem to go in the fall or winter, so the swimming has not been great for us.. We have enjoyed the pool at Elara, and its nice, perhaps not as kid freindly as the strip location, but as adults we like it.

Being attached to the Miricle Mile shops, and easy walking to Planet Hollywood, Cosmoplitan, etc we find the location much better than the strip location.

It wasn't one of the listed options, but we're partial to the Flamingo location due to proximity to the Linq.

Cheers.

I have stayed at both back in the day when I still owned HGVC. Room quality is a toss-up IMO but not the location. HGVC Strip location feels detached for me from the real action at the Strip. Elara is right where the action is.

Elara's parking is underneath the pool level I think but you can also park with the rest of the patrons at the Miracle Mile Shop's parking. HGVC @the Strip's parking is detached from the main towers. It's about a 2-min walk away so in terms of parking Elara wins still.

We own at the LV Strip but, for the last several years we've stayed at Elera. I think the LV Strip location has more of a resort feel with a larger pool, better hot tubs and a nicer convenience store but Elera is closer to all the action and within walking distance of a lot more things. I like the easy access to the mall. There are several less expensive restaurants and more affordable shopping than most area's on the strip. There's also a Walgreens in the mall, which makes life a little easier.

As for free parking, HET announced it would start charging for parking. I haven't called the resort to see how that would affect Elera guests. Since they use the Planet Hollywood parking garage, I'm assuming we'll be paying for parking in the future.

yeah a lot of casinos are starting to charge for parking (or thinking about moving to pay for parking) in the near future...crazy game changer in LV

I know.. It just sucks! On top of very expensive hotels already, even if you think you got the room at a good rate, after you add their resort fee, taxes and now parking fee, it's a few hundred dollars on top of the room rate after staying for 2 or 3 nights. It's crazy! Then they take more money from you when you gamble... hahaha:(

I don't know how they are going to charge for parking for Miracle Mile, unless you have to validate your parking to get free parking. If it comes to paying for parking, I think I would rather just go for Valet parking then. Parking at miracle mile is OK at time, but a PITA at other times, as it is so busy there.
