We signed up yesterday and were excited about the offer to get the 8000 HVC points doing the every other year to reduce how much overall cost and they gifted 16000 extra as well to be used within a certain time frame. Also has us as being HGV Max members. Hopefully this is making sense. Been reading other peoples posts here and see a lot of folks telling people to rescind the contract immediately. I'm trying to make the right decision and would love to use, but unsure if the HVC points are actually going to get us reputable bookings because we do plan way ahead anyways. HELP should we rescind immediately and any particular advice on exactly how to do so to make sure they honor the rescinded contract? Any help appreciated.

Yes. It is a math problem. If you can buy resale for $2,000 and they sold you at $40,000 the math is a problem.
The contract states the process. Read it. Follow it. Personally, I'd send it all different ways, but I haven't heard of issues if the deadline is hit. DON’T WAIT.
It has taken me a year to begin to understand timeshares and how they fit in our lives. 90 Minutes is impossible. It is for the sellers benefit and not yours. Rescind.
The goal should be to take more and better vacations. Nobody knows what your “needs” or “wants” are. You must learn the timeshare game. Then figure out what you want.

after doing so go find the FB group for HGVC resale deeds. it's a good program, but you don't need to pay retail prices.
congrats on finding TUG in time to rescind and save thousands!!!
would also suggest looking at buying hilton GRAND vacations club vs diamond/hvc.... you can buy that on the resale market for FAR less than you just saved by rescinding...and have IMO ownership into a higher tier timeshare system.
