I am leaving for Cancun this Sunday August 6th. How concerned should I be about the weather conditions? I will be coming home Sunday August 13th. I would like any Tuggers with crystal balls to reply. Thanks. -Ted

No forecast from me, because tropical storms are unpredictable. However, the National Hurricane Center currently suggests that this storm will strengthen and will likely wind up somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. The southern edge of the currently projected track reaches to Cancun.

By Saturday, you should have a pretty clear picture of whether this storm will impact your travel plans.

Stay current with the storm track and call your airline before leaving home on Sunday to ensure your flights will still be flying. By the time you return home the following Sunday, the storm should be well past your flight path home, unless the storm stalls or you're coming back via DFW.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. This is pretty common during August - October. As it gets closer to your trip keep an eye on the national hurricane center website, and while on vacation, you can catch the tropical weather update on the weather channel at 10 till the hour.

If the storm stays it's current course, you're likely to just see some rain on saturday, and I would guess a little bit stronger surf action.

on and when I asked my magic 8-ball it said: My reply is No.
My 8-ball has a high rate of accuracy.
