Just tried to book week 23 at MGO using consecutive weeks to book 13 months out. Called just before 9:00am and the line wasn't ready yet; then called exactly at 9:00am. Place on hold for 5 minutes and when they came on MGO was sold out. Called back and tried again with another person and still sold out. Ugh. Last year I locked off my other week (a MGC week) so I could book 13 months plus one week out, but I'm having trouble trading those MGC weeks in II and assumed it was due to locking off the room. Any other great ideas to use for next year? I know I can try for MGO again at 12 months, and that it will be even harder to get. I'll likely be stuck booking a different week and trading it or renting it as unfortunately with school only a couple weeks work for us.

Keep looking/calling between now and the 12 month mark as things go in and out, you might get lucky.
At 12 months be on the phone and logged on to 2 separate devices to get the best chance. If it doesn't happen then continue to check online as often as you can.
I don't believe locking off helps with the 13 months + 1 week attempt, others may clarify
All the best.

Are you flexible with the actual check in day? Saturday may be booked yet Friday or Sunday may still be available.......

Worth checking out in my opinion.

.

Try again at 12-months. No more than half the inventory is made available at the 13-month mark.

Does that apply to weeks reservations? I know its supposed to apply to Club points reservations, but not heard of it for weeks reservations where people can book long chains of weeks for several months if they own enough.

Yes they checked Fri-Sun for a couple of weeks. Crazy that it books so fast.

It's 50% is retained for 12 months. When inventory opens at least half is available for any given week at the 12 month mark. That means half is released to anyone stringing weeks together. If you are trying at exactly 13 months there could potentially be zero inventory because it could have all been taken by bookings of 13 plus 1,2,3 weeks, etc.

That's reassuring. I had heard that it was possible for there to be none, just not remembered it was none at 13 months 🙏

Is it correct to assume that my MGC 2 bedroom week would fetch lower trade value in Interval if I do a lock off? Meaning, the full 2bd should find better trades (not just size wise) than a 1 bd for the same week?

A 2-bedroom will have higher trade power than a 1-bedroom for the same week, yes. But in most instances a 1BR with a high TDI is more than enough trade power to see all available inventory.

What weeks were you trying to book consecutively? I am confused what other ownership you were matching it up with to get the consecutive weeks if you weren't using your MGC. You could have technically made the reservation two weeks ago by locking off MGC and booking MGC > MGC > MGO.

What are you trying to exchange into with your MGC deposits from last year? Certainly a May MGC week won't have the best trade power but depending on what you are looking for, trade power isn't usually an issue if you are checking consistently or placing a request with II. You can also later cancel those MGC weeks (after you are inside the 12 month reservation window for MGO) and book a different week(s) for deposit.

I was trying to book MGO week 23; June 5, 6, or 7th start date. I was using MGC to book week 22 in order to book 13 months out. Was I supposed to book a week ago? I was going off of 13 months from Jun 5, 6, 7.

Last year I did book MGC - MGC - MGO after locking off the MGC week. I didn't think to rebook MGC weeks after the 12 month window, great idea to remember going forward.

Yes, you should be basing your call in date on the first week in the string. So if you were using MGC week 22, then you would have called last Monday the 28th.

Well, :wall:

If you lock off MGC, you could then book week 21-MGC > 22-MGC > 23-MGO. This would have allowed you to call in on April 22. Since MGC has only Friday, Saturday and Sunday checkins, the 13-month release date is usually on a Tuesday.

Hopefully you'll get it at 12 months out but I agree, keep checking in the interim every day. At 12 months out from the Friday check in make sure you're signed in and ready to go. Don't waste a second. Let us know how it goes.

Duplicate, got an error on first submission.

I know the phones open at 9:00am ET. What time can you book online?

Same time. (Though there have been sporadic reports of inventory occasionally showing up earlier than its supposed to.)

If booking only MGO, then you don't have to speak to an associate. You could be ready to click book at exactly 9 AM. If booking 2 or more, then you must speak to an associate. It might be easier to book on line. Just a thought.
