There is an older thread discussing the reported scams (I am unfortunately a victim too of $3,588) involving these companies promising to rent out your timeshare. To make a long story short, I have filed a complaint against The Travel Network also aka Travvy Enterprises LLC. I am also taking them to small claims court. Melissa R Smith (see below) is listed as an authorized agent for multiple companies including Travvy Enterprises LLC and have reached out to her directly to get her version of her business operations (scam). If you have encountered a similar experience as I have, please feel free to reach out to me with your complaint details. A criminal investigation is something I am also contemplating depending on the volume of responses. Good luck to all!

Thank you for providing the obvious. I am not requesting any personal financial information. If anyone has lost money through The Travel Network/Travvy Enterprises LLC, just summarize what occurred (without personal financial information). Not sure if it will rise to a criminal investigation but I’m willing to follow it through as far as it can go to get some accountability.

Frankly, I don’t think that this TUG site is one on which you will find many “victims” of (i.e., people who willingly chose to pay for) upfront fee alleged timeshare “services”, but good luck with your quest. Accountability is certainly a noble goal, but it is sadly a foreign concept in the timeshare world.

I also doubt that many people will be willing to initiate contact with (or provide any personal information to) an unknown non-member email address of a first time TUG poster of unverifiable identity and unknown actual intent.

In short — if you are legitimate, I wish you luck. If you are not legitimate, but just someone “phishing” for new marketing contacts, I wish you goodbye. 🙂

@Mktman6769 I see a BBB review from someone stating they lost $3588. I assume that is your review since the dollars match. Just know that a BBB review does nothing towards the BBB rating. Only complaints matter. If you really want to go after them, file a BBB complaint (the business at least responds to BBB complaints albeit with not really saying much), a complaint with the Florida Attorney General, and a complaint with your state Attorney General (If a different state). Also contact your local news watch dog and see if they will assist.

All that sounds great on paper but honestly, this is a scammer and they don’t care. They will likely just close shop and start again under a new name. Melissa Renee Smith is likely just a front to the business. My guess is that a convicted criminal is likely the real operator. Taking the business to small claims will likely result in a default judgement because they won’t show up. That default judgement won’t be paid.

Wish you luck.

You're spot on. I filed the BBB complaint and they responded with a canned response avoiding the specific details and e-mail/voice message evidence I had provided. Their response mirrored the other responses they provided on the BBB site. I sent in my counter response. I have also filed a small claims case (in process) and have also submitted a complaint to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and they have opened a file. I understand it's a very slim chance of any accountability being realized here but I am going to pursue as far as I can take it if for nothing else to prevent them from ripping off others.

You can add the $300 (or whatever) small claims filing fee to the $3,588 you already lost. Sorry but you will never see a penny from that complaint.
