Just got this email; followed the link and what do you know? I have a TravelUp account despite not having purchased subsequent to it starting. Had to request a password reset to get in. My membership type is "TRAVELUP GOLD" matching my Club Wyndham VIP level.

Did one random search for a flight I might need to book later; $1,593 through TravelUp and $1,733 going straight through the airline website. (Same flight on Orbitz is $1,259.36.) There is also some provision for "travel credits" but it's not readily obvious how you get those and use them. There's a large set of terms and conditions that is quite light on details of how they work, but evidently you can get them when using the system to book travel and can use them towards payment for additional travel within 12 months.

On an interesting note, I tried the same search using the Club Wyndham Travel portion of the Wyndham website and the exact same flight came up for $1,542 rather than $1,593. The interface for flights for TravelUp and Club Wyndham Travel are essentially identical - all that is different is the website it's running in. Not quite sure what to make of this other than putting a newer pretty wrapper on the existing service they offer as a marketing strategy.

try comparing it to the rci travel tab. I have a feeling they are all the same platform but making it sound like the travel up is something special.

Probably not even worth trying - they'll be the same. Terms & conditions for TravelUp says the services are provided by Resort Rentals, LLC, which is the Panorama entity that does a few things for RCI like the Vacation Village extra vacation certificates, etc.

I'm curious about a couple things. First, are they going to ask you to pay the annual fee after the first year? Last I heard it was $129. Second, if they gave it to you without a new purchase, are they doing that for all owners, or just VIP? Or maybe just VIP Gold and higher? If it's being given to standard users, is it a retail only "perk"? Could it have been a mistake? I know you don't have all those answers, but it's just somethings I was curious about. I am tempted to reach out to our contacts at Wyndham to find out, but if it turns out to be a mistake, I don't want them to take it away from you. It may not be useful now, but things could change over the next year. Hopefully we will have more answers soon. If it's being given out to all owners or just VIPs, I would imagine we would hear more about it on the social media platforms.

I went to the site and clicked "Forgot password" to see if I would get an email to reset my password. I have not. I'm going to post in a few Facebook groups to see if anyone else got the same thing.

I've got absolutely no idea for any of those answers. My initial impression is that $129 for a renewal fee wouldn't be worth it - my one test search cost more than access through Club Wyndham Travel.

Kind of wonder if anyone else got the same email, but it's just been crickets since I posted this.

I got crickets on Facebook too. It’s only been 3 hours but I normally get a lot of replies to my post in three hours. Maybe Facebook didn’t deem it worthy and it’s not showing up on people’s timelines.

I didn't receive any such email. Makes me wonder if it's a very targeted pilot of some kind. Like @Richelle I can follow up with our Wyndham contacts - @Eric B would you be OK with us taking this route? We would need to obtain the email you actually received - sent to us under separate cover to private email accounts), and would then send that email to our Wyndham contacts - which would obviously have your email address from the forward. If not, no big deal - we're good either way of course. DM me if you are game and we'll get this rolling...

I’m VIP Silver and I haven’t received that email, so far.
