Received a call from 855 444-4104. Lady knew my name and knew I had HGVC. She said she was calling from "RCL Club Membership" and wanted to talk to me about the maintenance fee reimbursement program. I knew at this point it was a scam call but I went with it. She said I needed a minimum of 4800 unused points. She said something along the lines that it appeared that I was never assigned a counselor. I asked her if this was an RCI counselor and she skirted the question twice and then said she was just in registrations and would need to talk to a counselor and put me on hold.

A female "counselor", I think Sonia, got on the phone. She started into her spiel and I asked her exactly who I was speaking to. She mentioned RCI club again. I asked her three other times if they are 100% related to RCI and she avoided answering directly until the last time I asked. She said she was with TPI and I said no thank you and hung up.

Reported to the DNC website.

I received a call from "Member Services" (833-209-5595) last week claiming they were with RCI asking if I had been contacted about a program in which I would receive compensation for my unused RCI points. They set up an appointment with me to talk with a "counselor" about this program. The "counselor" called about the date and time we agreed to and she told me her name was Gemma. She seemed to know how many RCI points I received each year and was close to the total available points. She was very personable and walked me through this program called CLUB365 (at website address https://www.theclub365.com with phone number 877-348-0590). She was surprised that I had not signed up for this "RCI CLUB365 workshop" that was sent to me back in the spring of 2017 when the program started. (I searched my email account for any reference to club365 and never saw an email.) As she showed me the website I took snapshots and saved them in a word document. Most of the screens had "RCI Travel" on them and looked very similar to RCI...the web addresses looked like it was for RCI also as they were accessing things like RCI cruises, etc. Most of what she talked about seemed like it was already available to RCI members...$299 Getaways Platinum rentals for resorts, hotel reservations, airline reservations, cruise reservations, etc. She said we would get a $1000 credit each year that coincided with our RCI membership period to apply to our travel plans. This would go away if not used each year at the end of the RCI membership period. She also went over a "Platinum Rental Program" which I was very interested in to get compensated for unused RCI points. The gist of the program is that you call your assigned "counselor" to pledge your points and find out if the "Rotation" is green or red. If it is green then they can accept your points to be rented. She went away to check if the "Rotation" was currently green and it was...surprise, surprise. Then there was a "Rental Agreement" I would need to sign which would also be signed by the renter. Then we would receive payment for the points we put into the program through check, direct deposit, or paypal. For each 10,000 RCI points I would get $1,200...for 80,000 points I would get paid $9,600. While she was on the phone I tried to get into this CLUB365 site but was unable to. So she transferred the call to her manager, "Divina". She also acted surprised that I had not signed up for this "RCI CLUB365 workshop" but said that since Gemma walked me through the website she said that would take the place of the workshop. She said that she had to check with their technical support to see why I was not in their system. She said she would increase the points earned to $1,400 for each 10,000 points we put in the rental program instead of the $1,200 Gemma had shown me. Then came the kicker...this program would cost $2995...she said she was discounting it down from $4995. She also said there was a annual $199 membership fee for CLUB365 but the first year would be covered. I said I would need to think about this program and asked if she could call back the next day. She gave me a confirmation number beginning with TPI...which I believe stands for Travel Points International. I spent some time searching the internet for this CLUB365 program and their wasn't much. I found nothing about CLUB365 on the official RCI website. On rciaffiliates.com there is a description of this program but it did not show the "Platinum Rental Program". At the bottom of this web site it lists Resort Rental, LLC as the company running this program. After some digging I found that this company is associated with TPI (Travel Points International) which has had some complaints and is not BBB accredited. It has been in business 4 years. Many of the BBB complaints are concerning this "Platinum Rental Program" they offer is never fullfilled and paid out. I will not be buying this CLUB365 program unless I hear from many others that this program is legit and really works. If it sounds too good to be true....it probably is.

Thanks for sharing your experience in great detail. Paying $9,600 for 80,000 RCI points is an absurd claim on their part but they will say what they want to get the upfront fee. This company supposedly sends requests to owners to book reservations. I haven’t been able to figure out if they are sending fake requests that they know can’t be fulfilled (as one complaint alleges) or if they are obtaining booking requests from people as if it is a hotel type site (i.e. last minute requests). Either way, it spells scam to the timeshare owner who is out thousands of dollars.

As you said, if it is sounds too good to be true....

I can confirm I got almost the exact same spiel... like they were reading from a script or something lmao. In my case they offered $1200 for each 51,000 Wyndham points. I was on board with that since I'm not using them this year. I was just waiting for the $$$$ ask though. The wife and I had a good laugh when they presented the $2995. When we said we wouldn't be able to pay that, she offered to talk to financing on our behalf and reduce it to $1200 but the rest had to be paid within the year.

How do people live with themselves working a job like that?
