Hi TUG, this is my first post, I hope I'm posting in the right area.

I am directly selling my Ko Olina Hawaii timeshare (Marriot Vacation Club International) to my friend, and I need to transfer the deed to him along with some other legal paperwork.

I've searched the forum and many people have recommended readylegal@gmail.com or lttransfers.com.

I sent them an email asking for the price, what information they needed and if they handled deeds in Hawaii. It's been a few days and they haven't responded. Is there a protocol fellow TUGers use when using lttransfers? Maybe you're supposed to fill in the document preparation form and send them a copy of the deed with your first email? I figured it was a good idea to send them an email first to wait for a green light before sending my personal details over.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong so I'd really appreciate any help with this, TUG.

Marriott is much more involved than most timeshares. You have to order an estoppel and submit a ROFR form to Marriott before any transfer will ever take place. You may be able to find that information on the Marriott website. Just be prepared for the whole process to take a very long time.

I usually fill out the form (than a direct email), but do not send other documents to LT until requested. They usually respond within 24-48 hr of the initial request. Is it possible the request went into your spam folder?

I've always found the nice folks at LT Transfers to be very responsive and I believe that the email address you cite is indeed correct.
Are you sure that your email inquiry was even successfully sent / received? You could always follow up with a phone call, if all else fails.

P.S. I don't think that they work weekends at LTT, if the weekend was actually part of the "few days" that you mention.

I apologize that you have had difficulty in contacting us, we have unfortunately not received your email. I have sent a PM to you as we would be delighted to assist you with your Ko Olina timeshare transaction.

I have the Transfer Packet in front of me from Marriot and they list two emails for estoppel requests. One for finance estoppel and another for usage estoppel. Does that means I need two estoppel(s) for the transfer? Do these come straight from Marriot or will I have to find an attorney?

Thanks for your advice, Mary at LTtransfers sent me a private message soon after I posted this thread. Something must've went wrong with the email servers but another email is on its way to their office.

You don't need an attorney - LT Transfers will handle everything for you, including the estoppel(s). Just leave it in their very capable hands, and they will walk you right through it.

(I have done several transfers with them - A+)

I'd like to bump this thread and tell everyone that I no longer own my Ko Olina timeshare because LT Transfers successfully transfered my deed at an affordable price.

Mary at LT Transfers is knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Thanks to her help, my timeshare transfer was a breeze. I'd like to take a moment to recommend LT Transfers for all your deed transfer needs. Give them an email at readylegal@gmail.com (yes, it's that simple) to get started.

And for those of you suspicously eyeing my low post count and considering this post a shill, I will gladly produce proof of our business upon request. ;)

Thank you TUG for leading me LT Transfers as well :cheer:

Nah I would eye you suspiciously if you were writing glowing recommendations about the U in Puerto Vallarta or any of the number of scams. If you were a shill, I would tell you that 4 months is an amazing "long game".
