I made a 1/27 reservation. When I went to deposit for exchanging and the rep said I couldn't until the 12 months from date of check-in.

Isn't Deposit First good for dates a year behind the reservation and 2 years in front of the reservation?
 
Were you trying to make an instant exchange or place a request? Or were you just trying to deposit. I don't really think it matters either way but there is nothing preventing you from depositing more than 12 months out. Have you tried just depositing online?

1/27 meaning Jan 27 (of what year), January of 2027?
 
We definitely see +13 month of MVC resorts into II, so it is possible, perhaps the rep didn't know that detail. Have you tried depositing it via II on the website?
 
If you have a reservation number, then I believe the II rep is wrong. Either call back and try again or just make the deposit online.
 
Yes, Jan. '27. I'm trying to request a week in '26.

When I called the rep said they didn't have any '27 inventory from Marriott yet. I called after the 6th of December. I'll try again.

But you are the one providing them with the inventory. Tell them you have a confirmed reservation. Or just try online.
 
What Dioxide said. Give them the confirmation# for your reservation. It may take a day or so to verify it. Or much easier, do it online.
 
I've deposited more than 12 months out a number of times. I almost always do so by depositing online though. I will say that I have had a couple of times when MVC initially refused to confirm the deposit and II sent me a card saying so. However, they have actually never canceled the deposit. True fixed weeks can be deposited 18 months out. I wouldn't be surprised if they were more strict on request first.
