Trading on II question for Starwood priority/MERGED

Hi there,

Can someone please tell me the difference between "seeing" the Starwood priority resorts with a smaller 1BR versus a large 1BR. Do you see more with the larger one?

Also, is there any advantage to having a 2BR versus a 1BR in seeing the Starwood priority trades? I have heard of people depositing their 2BR lockoff as 2 separate weeks to get more vacation time. If you deposited it together, would you get better choices for the other Starwood properties? I seem to recall people saying that even their 1BR can see 2BR LOs for trade.

I know II trades like for like but it seems like that rule is broken for the 3 day Starwood priority time. But I could be wrong.

I DON'T SEE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LARGER AND SMALLER 1BR WITH MY PGA WEEK

OCCASIONALLY THERE IS A DIFFERENCE - SOMETIMES IT 'TAKES' A 2BR TO SEE WHAT OTHERS ARE SEEING WITH A 1BR - IT IS JUST HARD TO PREDICT

SOMETIMES YOU DO - ESPECIALLY WITH THE 'TOUGHER' TRADES OF HAWAII - USUALLY I SEE 2BRS WITH MY 1BR UNIT STARWOOD TO STARWOOD - OUTSIDE OF STARWOOD, I AM RESTRICTED BY TRADE POWER - EXAMPLE, I WS ABLE TO 'SEE' MAR NEWPORT COAST 2BR UNITS IN MAY USING A 1BR PGA - I MIGHT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE MORE WEEKS IF I WAS USING A 2BR.

I have to tell you honestly, I never knew which was which in my II account - I would have to have looked up the reservation number to check - they both traded the same.
But sometimes it did take the whole 2BR to see what others saw - and it was hard to predict how it would be.

So far, with my limited II and Starwood experience, I have not seen a difference between the two one bedrooms for exchanges. All my exchanges or playing around have been with Kierland units, so it may be different for other resorts.

Another question regarding trading Starwood with II

Hi, we own a 2 bedroom, worth 81,000 staroptions at VV. To trade into Hawaii, we would only be able to stay in a one bedroom. If we trade with II, would we be able to get a 2 bedroom? How likely is II, to have a 2 bedroom unit for exchange? When is the Starwood preferred period, and how does it work? One last question, would Starwood ever upgrade you to a 2 bedroom, by taking a certain amount of cash with the staroptions? Thanks, Sue
