I think I got a nice trade with my Grand Chateau studio for a 1BDRM at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Hotel Villas. I'm wondering which resort this is as it doesn't say N or S. Also wondering if the II exchange will have a room code that represents view and if so do they honor it like the Marriott Maui Ocean club does. I already got a great Maui trade with my 2BDRM MGC into an 2BDRM OV into MOC Lahaina Towers so getting this week is a huge bonus, even if it's just a IV, but if a better view that is icing on the cake.

It's south towers, if it's KAA, and you are likely to get mountain view as an exchange. A worthy exchange nonetheless.

There is no KAA code or any code in the initial confirmation I received. I'd be happy with a nice mountain view vs and IV which is typically no view. It does reference the address Vistana, 6 Kai Ala Drive, Lahaina, Hawaii 96761 if that means anything. Either way a nice trade to get a 1BDRM with kitchen.

Do these also have laundry in room?

All units at KAA and KAN have a washer/dryer, even the studios. Love the resort!

That is excellent regarding the laundry. So is South the resort closest to the Black Rock? The address is not for the North resort but I don't see anything labeled South. We just explored the Westins this last time in July and really liked what we saw.

Yes, South is closer to Black Rock. The address for North is 170 Kai Ala Drive. You will love either property.

People call it “South”, but it doesn’t actually have “South” in its name. It is the one closer to Black Rock. They are both beautiful resorts.

So many people call it "South" that the Westin directional signage along the boardwalk also now refer to it as "South".

On Vistana.com, they just call one of them "north". The same is true on Marriott.com.

Very cool. I actually just grabbed a 2nd 1BDRM for the same date with my week 36 Harbour Point. It is so nice being retired and being able to grab a date at its best value instead of being forced to hunt for a high demand week.

Anyone know about how II exchanged rooms are assigned? Do exchanges automatically get mountain views? I'm not even worried about the view because to me these are more great Maui trades into top resorts so a nice view would be just a cherry on top.

Searching I found that for exchangers its likely to be IV and good chance parking lot but again the value even without a view is very good so very happy with these either way.

You should get a marriott confirmation number in your interval confirmation pdf file. Add it to your bonvoy account at marriott.com and you can find out what unit it is. I got an OV studio for a trip we did in July this year.

Go to the Interval website on a desktop -> My History -> Exchanges, you will see Unit listed there. Which unit is it?

HOVOM and a HIVMP

HOVOM is 1 bedroom ocean view at the south
HIVMP is 1 bedroom island view at the south

They usually honor the view, but no guarantee.

When it was just vistana it didn't matter what unit they generically assigned on interval, most exchangers were assigned onsite to Island view. I was wondering when they went to the Marriott reservations if that would change and you would get the view of the unit deposited.

Here is what I have so far. Are there any unit types missing? Are there dedicated 1BR units? I can't find the code for a 2BR OV.

ZZAC.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Island View..........2BR unit that locks off in to 1BR and studio.
IVMP.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Island View..........1BR portion of 2BR unit.
IVGP.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Island View..........Studio portion of a 2BR unit.
.........Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean View...........2BR unit that locks off in to 1BR and studio.
OVOM.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean View...........1BR portion of 2BR unit.
OVOG.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean View...........Studio portion of a 2BR unit.
ZZAF.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean Front Corner...2BR unit that locks off in to 1BR and studio.
ONBR.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean Front Corner...1BR portion of 2BR unit.
ONLS.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean Front..........Studio portion of a 2BR unit.

I am also wondering if they will honor a code the way Marriott seems to (in most cases).

We had an oceanfront unit at MMO last year. It was really nice and spring break for our kids.

Wow, you are on top of everything Marriott/ Vistana. Where did you get that?

I just made it based on research on Marriott.com. I am working on a full list like I have created for Marriott. It is still a work in progress.

You can find the room codes here, hover over the Check Rates button, it will tell you the room code in URL as roomPoolCode:

From our stays at KAA it has usually been assigned parking lot view. KAN at least there is no parking lot view.

FYI KAA and KAN studios have washer and dryers plus stove. KAA and KAN studios are way better equipped than the Marriott, Hilton and Disney kitchenettes. Maybe the other studios at other Westins are the same but only have personal experience with Maui.

Is it parking lot/mountainview?

Thank you so much for doing this! Do you have Princeville info yet? I am going in September.
