Trading in Interval with Marriott Points Week

I own deeded Marriott weeks and am able to trade for other Marriott weeks using Interval. I am talking to someone who owns MVC points which they used to reserve a week. She is considering joining Interval to trade for another Marriott week. Is there any difference in her trading her week made with points and my trading my deeded week?

Yes there are many differences. One of the biggest being when Marriott points are used to trade via Interval you can only trade into NON-MARRIOTT properties. With Marriott weeks you get Marriott preference to trade into other Marriott weeks.

Yes that would be an option with a Marriott points deposit.

You calso can't deposit a reservation made with points into II. Points are exchange by using a TDI/Unit Size grid.

MVC Club points also can't book any Sheraton or Westin resort in II. Hyatt and DVC and selected other resorts are an OK use of club points, but generally its an expensive use of ownership when compared to using a week.
They can log in to their corporate II account and search against the Abound club points placeholder under my units. That way they can get a feel for how many points it would take to book what.
