Why would a person wipe a toilet seat with TP? That's not going to clean anything.

I was told never to use TP or facial tissues to clean my glasses. There are wood fibers that can scratch. Think of how your nose feels after having a cold.

I prefer to wipe off the pee splattered on the seat before sitting down.

Certainly this is not a problem at home, is it? Public toilets, who cares if I scratch the toilet with the terrible toilet paper on those gigantic rolls. Still, I keep wet wipes for that purpose in my purse. Yeah, that is who I am.

When living with a spouse with cognitive issues as the least of his problems, only finding pee on the seat is a good day.

I keep wet wipes and seat covers in my car in case I have to use a public restroom.

At home we have bidet attachments and we hate using toilets outside our home!

I think they make a portable bidet type cleaning thingamajigz for when your not home. I have to look into that!

If you use wet wipes, do not flush into the toilet. The regular wet wipes are not flushable. Even the flushable wipes are generally not flushable, to be safe, toss them in the trash. My friend’s family used the supposedly biodegradable flushable wipes, theirs septic system got all plugged up and made a big mess. Kimberly-Clark settled a lawsuit with a public water system for damages caused by Cottonelle flushable wipes not long ago. Part of the settlement required Kimberly-Clark to change labeling and reengineer theirs wipes to meet guidelines set by the IWSFG. Cottonelle flushable wipes now meet flushability criteria, however other companies haven’t followed suit and remain unregulated.

I use flushable wipes that are individually wrapped when I’m out, plus toilet paper.

At home I don’t need to use toilet paper or wipes at all since we have the bidet attachments.

Sewer facilities prefer nothing except TP be flushed. I toured a plant once. Flushable wipes were floating in the tank. And lots of other yucky stuff.

A public toilet has nothing else. I remember in the 70s that Mom had a little can of Lysol for the gas station toilets.

I don’t carry a purse and probably could not wait for seat to dry after wet wiping it. In extreme situations I can hover but my knees aren’t going to allow that option forever.

Private septic system not keen on non-TP, either. What’s weird down here is they bury the septic lid so any pumping is a yard excavation. I‘ll get risers installed after the first time as I’d rather have a lid at yard level than a dig up every few years. There’s the lid, run the hose, get er done, vs however long to find and dig. Hard for me to understand being opposed to a visible septic lid but OK fine with “a rock” or other well covering.

In a previous home that had a septic system, I built a small wishing well similar to this pic and put it over the septic lid, which was in the back yard lawn. It worked and looked great, but I thought it was a bit ironic to have a wishing well over the honey tank. 🤣

This is a game changer. I just saw some options for a portable bidet on Amazon. I am right with you on that. I will be buying one of these for travel. I just have to figure out which one is best.

At home we have the Biobidet Bliss, which is the best bidet toilet seat. The others we have are not nearly as good. We have a Kohler we bought at Costco, which is just okay. We also bought another one, forget the name of it, and it's just okay. The Bliss is the best.

Love it, Kurt! Maybe I‘ll do that, or find some weird statue and say it’s patron saint of poop. See how long I can keep a straight face. Folks don’t know me well here so I might as well amuse myself and see some head scratching until they figure I’m the one full of it.

At home we have luxe bidets and pretty happy with them, especially at the price point.

This is how we roll and it seems odd to not have the bidet when we travel.

First morning on vacation comes the shock of the cold seat. Then comes a round of “ I miss my butt washer, my only butt washer…” sung to the tune of You Are My Sunshine. Then comes the grumbling about the cheap toilet paper, followed by a shower. We are a Toto family.

What about the man who forgets that all toilet seats at resorts are going to slam? Rick forgets for a few days. Our soft-close toilet seats keep that from happening. Nothing will jar me awake quicker than a slamming toilet seat. Rick immediately says, "I am sorry. I forget every time."
