How doable is it to have a company sell your 2 br Sheraton Vistana timeshare and find a 2 br Sheraton Broadway Plantation to buy without (or VERY little) out of pocket expense?

For some reason, it seems like i read that this is doable or maybe I'm just wishful thinking???

I think both are valued about the same. So it shouldn't cost very much more than closing costs to sell your Vistana and buy a Broadway Plantation.

The real concern I have about your post is the "How doable is it to have a company sell" comment. If you want to do this for a reasonable cost, You'll likely want to sell your Vistana yourself. IMHO, anytime you involve "a company" the costs skyrocket.

that is very true. the Ts company i have once dealt with before TUG were not reputable. they took my money upfront and never tried to sell it. they just get naive people to give them upfront money and that is actually the business they are in, not selling TS. we actually called about my unit trying to buy it and they didn't know what we were talking about and didn't even try to sell us anything. so BEWARE!!!!!!

Sorry, it will be about 2K additional

Your fountains weeks regularly sell on Ebay for under $500 and a 2 bedroom Platinum Broadway annual week goes for around $2200-3100 also on Ebay.
So, buy the time to advertise and sell the Fountains week, and pay the closing, transfer, etc on the Broadway, you will spend at least 2k maybe 2.5.

Here are the current plat weeks on ebay

Since Fountains will now be in SVN, I would just wait and see if you're successful in making internal trades, before trying to sell one unit, and buy the other.

Thanks for the replies/suggestions.

Actually, I don't think i'll have a problem trading into SBP but I use my SVR mostly for trading purposes, so I thought I would have more trading power with SBP.

Has anyone sold their timeshare on their own and used a company for the closing process? If so, any closing company recommendations?

I'm going to move this to the Starwood board.

Keep your Fountains. They just got voted to be in the Starwood system for free! You won't get that option with a resale SBP. Just use the SOs you will have each year to go to SBP when you want! Or go to one of the many other Starwood resorts.

Yup, I say keep it. It will be much easier for you now that you can trade internally with Starwood. If you switch to SBP, it will cost more and you will still have to do the II thing.
