Title Document Source - what is this?

We recently closed on a resale week at NCV and received a letter in the mail from a company called "Title Document Source" and they included a copy of our recorded deed (which we had already received from Chicago Title). Has anyone else received this or know anything about it - I'm trying to figure out if it's a scam or legit. Thanks! :ponder:

It's a company that offers you the opportunity to "protect your home equity" (their words, not mine) by recording a homestead declaration. Even if you fell for this unecessary opportunity, you would have to be living (i.e., as your primary residence) in the timeshare when you filed.

Don't pay a dime for this opportunity.

How did they get your name and address? That info was public info at the Orange County government site where they made a copy of your deed.

Thanks for your help! Good question - I have no idea how they got my name and address.

Sorry for the confusion. My question was posed for the purpose of answering my own question, which I did. They got your info from the public info associated with your recorded deed, which is also public info.
