Located about three and a half hours east of the San Francisco Bay Area, you will find the Angels camp museum. The museum is located in the "downtown" area of Angels camp (it is a small town so downtown is mostly one street). Don't be confused by the small building in the front. The upstairs and entrance is mostly a history of Mark Twain. At first I wondered why I had paid a fee just to read what is available free on-line...

But then I saw the two other buildings and the downstairs. The downstairs in the first building has a lot of information of the early Pharmacies including an early wheelchair. The second building has a real like stagecoach (without the horses), a covered wagon, large wagons (the semi-trucks of the day pulled by oxen) and more. And the third building has farming equipment, rocks, and other mining equipment. It was very cool to be up close to the original equipment used. And feel free to ask the guides as they love telling the stories about the town. There is even a debate about the "city of angels" being Angels camp and not Los Angeles.
