Anyone know about Timeshare Resales Hawaii? Their web site states that they will see for commission, no upfront fees. I haven't reseached it very much, but wanted to try out my first night as a TUG and BBS member. Thanks.

I've been delayed in checking my replies. Thanks for yours. I also have 2 timeshares in Lake Tahoe I would like to sell. Do you recommend Paradise Timeshares Resales or someone else?I don't know anything about this company but can tell you these companies do work!
We have one in Lake Tahoe that sells Lake area timeshares and also Hawaii and they seem to have a good following. Our reort who has a resales dept will recommend them when they have to many units on their list in a building.
They do charge a large fee after sale like $2000 for units sold up to $10,000 and more as price goes up which is fair!
You let them do the work and hope for resuilts. This company understands the Lake Tahoe resorts which helps buyers also.
These companies being honest will not waste their time or yours by listing for ridiculous price and do tell the range your unit is going for. You will not have a unit worth $5000 and they liist for $20,000 like these upfront companies that tell you what you want to hear.
The one thing you might check out is when you sign your contract it is for the year and if you decide later to stop your listing you still have to pay something like half the commission if you sell before the year is up.
Again this seems fair because there would be people sign on and then run their own ads on some place like Tug and then when finding a buyer try and close their listing to save money.
I have stated this before and will again. There are many owners out there that sell and rent all the time and understand what they are doing. Then there is the other 75% of owners that are clueless like myself who probably would cost myself money and wasted time trying to do it myself.
For others like myself paying a company that is honest and knows what their doing is worth the extra money and the fact you pay nothing until escrow closes is the safest way to go!
I know there are these kind of companies all around the US, one lady is a Tug member and Redweek member and post on these sites and others have always had good things to say about her!
Its funny to that these companies put out news letters and we just had one from Paradise Timeshares Resales in Lake Tahoe talking about these upfront companies and warning as many of us do.
As another Tugger stated this is really a bad time to sell any where so if you can wait your better off.
GOOD LUCK! PHIL
I own ocean front so think I might give it a try.Hi EJO! Welcome to TUG!
If you are thinking about trying to sell your WKORV week, my advice would be to wait until the economy improves. I own there too, and right now resales are going for about half of the original price, unless you own ocean front, and then you might do a little better, or a little worse, if you own island view.
And thanks for joining TUG!
Thanks for your good inputs.I have never seriously considered buying from them because you can find the same timeshare much cheaper on eBay. They have told me to be warry of buying on eBay, but I have done several times and have never had a problem... so that warning goes in one ear and out the other.
If you want to sell through them, then the reverse is true. You will likely get a much higher price for your timeshares by selling through them than almost any other means when it comes to high price timeshares. If I remember right, their minimum fee is either $1500 or $2500, which, either way, can obviously be prohibitive on cheaper timeshares. I have not used them for selling because I have been selling cheap timeshares (under $5000) where they don't get the highest prices after their fees are factored in. MY best success on selling cheaper timeshares in terms of pocketing the most is through a source that everyone loves to hate, so I won't mention it here again. If you want to know what it is, look up my old posts... not too old anymore. By the way, Denise, thanks for standing up for me!
