If there are any timeshare resorts anywhere near Pasadena, I will be surprised. I don't think there are any in Minterey either, but Marriott and Hyatt have hotels there :)

The Monterey area includes Marina and Pacific Grove. There are timeshares in both of those locations. I think there is also a timeshare in Carmel.

Of the locations on your list -- Tahoe is going to be your only easy option.
Monterey Bay is very difficult -- unless you buy the location. I've owned timeshares for 25 years, have family in SFBay Area, in that time I've exchanged into 3 timeshares -- Pacific Grove independent, Worldmark Marina, and Hyatt Highlands -- and not for lack of trying.

WorldMark has a resort at SouthShore Lake Tahoe, Marina and Anaheim (closest to Pasadena)
The Marina resort has only 32 or so units, so is very difficult to reserve, but you could set up a wait list and get in when others cancel.

Thanks everyone for the reply’s. Appreciate the guidance.

@Monkeyboy , you didn't mention where you're from. But I live in Ca. have a bunch of "favorites" within California - - Palm Desert, Newport Coast, Carmel (Hyatt Highlands) and Tahoe. I exchange these through Interval. We also enjoyed Napa (Shell Vino Bello which now trades through RCI) and Harbortown Point (Interval).

We also enjoy going to Arizona and have traded (though Interval) into Hyatt Pinon Point (Sedona), Marriott Canyon Villas (Phoenix) and Shell Starr Pass (Tucson).

If you're looking for a bit higher end luxury, then go with Marriott who is tied to Interval. If you want to save a few bucks and go with a slightly lower tier of resorts, then go with Worldmark which trades through RCI.

Thanks I am in cali as well. Doesn’t Marriott charges that extra 2-3k fee on purchases? We are in the middle of purchasing a Hilton bay club. Been thinking world mark For Cali.

If you are in "Cali" you are in Columbia. As a second generation Californian, when someone says "Cali" the hairs on the back of my neck go up. Just like calling San Francisco, Frisco.

I’m in Cali and I say that as a shorthand and I have other Californians do the same!
You're "in" California. Are you a native?

It would be like calling New York "Newie" or Washington "Washie". But, as they say...........you do you.

Yeah, me too. I am not a native, but a graduate of both Palo Alto High and UC Berkeley. Admittedly it's been a while since I lived there, but I can't remember any of my classmates calling it "Cali" except in an ironic quote of LL Cool J's "Going back to Cali," and he's from Queens. As the song says: "I don't think so."

Also, if you lived in Northern California for any length of time, San Francisco was simply "The City," no further clarification needed.

If you are going to shorten California when writing, most people use CA.

I'm not sure exactly what "2-3K fee" you're referring to. If you buy a Marriott resale, you pay what the seller and you agree to. The only fee that Marriott charges is a resort transfer fee of under $200.
