All,

I'm just documenting transaction timing for the record. This is the recent I-Drive 1BR that I reached agreement on in early March:

Documentation submitted by closing agent to HGVC: March 7
ROFR waiver received back from HGVC: April 19
Wire transfer to closing company: April 25
Recorded deed sent to HGVC: May 1
Points appearing in my account: May 9

Note: HGVC said the reason it took so long for the waiver to process was because the person who signed these things was out for 3 weeks.

I hope this helps somebody along the way!

All the best,

Greg

I am about to close on a 1 br EOY at Parc Soleil. ROFR took a while too but we were MOST please that we got the waiver. I am excited to start timesharing! Learning lots as I go!

Actually, that looks about right to me, if not a little quicker than normal.

Congrats on your puchase.

Congratulations Greg. Glad to see the process is concluded and you can make plans. Enjoy.

Bob, you may be right -- HGVC told me that it usually took then 7-14 days from receipt to get the points recognized, and that it would be a little faster if the owner is a Trust (which ours is).

That may have helped a little bit in terms of a few days -- I'm not sure why Trust ownership makes a difference???

Best,

greg

A little faster than mine and I didn't have a ROFR.

HGVC at the Flamingo:
Submitted contract on February 16, wire sent on March 13 and received my points on May 7.

I am now booked!
enjoy,
Duane

Newbie question

Hi. I have a real newbie question related to next steps after closing. We've purchased a Hilton timeshare off the secondary market, signed all the closing documents and the title company is supposed to distribute funds this week. I'm wondering what to expect next? Does Hilton send a package out to provide the capability to login to the Hilton Website? Do you need to call into Hilton to get this information? Any information would be helpful.

Thanks
Joe Marx

I called and got my info to login several weeks before anything arrived in the mail.

The deed will first be recorded in the public records of the county where the TS is located. Next, a copy of it, the waiver of ROFR and transfer fees will be sent to HGVC. Allow about two weeks. Then, it will take a week or two for HGVC to assign you a member number and prepare a welcome kit (with membership cards).

During this time, you can call for your member number or wait for HGVC to send you the kit.
Do not be surprised if the cards' "Member Since" date is the original sale.

You use the member number to set up online access to your account.
See: https://www.hgvclub.com/login.php

A week or so after you receive your welcome kit, you'll get a HHonors welcome kit.
At some point during this period, the online portal to RCI will also be activated.

I took a while for me. I started calling HGVC a month after the official closing. Called twice more and finally about 5 1/2 weeks later I received my member number. A week later I received my member packet but I had already booked by then.

enjoy,
Duane

Thanks everyone. My wife and I are super excited as this is our first timeshare. It seems like the closing process is intolerably slow and we're just anxious to start looking around and booking our first vacation. I hope to use the timeshare for some time to come. We bought a Platinum week in Kings Land resort worth 9300 points.
