I have been contacted by someone that insists on using www.timesharetransfers.com with a fee of $295. to handle the transaction
A close to our asking price offer was made by this person. I said I would not pay the fee up front but would allow the buyer to deduct the fee from the offer
I think this offer was phony just to get us to pay the $295. fee
any suggestions?

There is always a fee for deed preparation, and traditionally, whoever pays for the fee, gets to choose the company.

If they are going to deduct the fee from your payment, I don't understand how you are out any money?

If they are asking you to pay the fee upfront, then I would question it.

Who has made this offer to you?

TTI is a good closing company in Vero Beach FL

Did you offer to pay the closing costs? If not the buyer normally does, and the person that pays can normally choose who they wish to handle the closing.
TTI will collect their fee in the beginning, before the draft or record the deed.

I did offer that she could deduct the fee from the price
She wanted me to pay the fee up front, and if I had then I would not have heard back from her. It was just a rouse to get a fee paid

I have also been contacted by poodles2183@gmail.com about buying my Westgate timeshare. She's pushing www.timesharetransfers.com with me too. I'm thinking this might be another sales tactic now and not someone who is actually interested in buying my timeshare. :(

An important distinction...

This "similar name" issue has been addressed time and time again on TUG. One more time, with feeling:

Timeshare Transfer of Vero Beach, FL is an established, honest, reputable and competent closing company.

Timeshare Transfers of Boulder, Colorado is none of the above; avoid them. Period, amen. 'Nuff said.

Yes --- GOOD!

Legal Timeshare Transfers

Cleveland, GA 30528,

I have used them several times over the past year or so in "zero cost" / intra-family transfers of ownership. Lisa Short and Mary Bless are competent and communicate well. I'd use them again without hesitation.

However, be aware and advised they do not handle escrow money, so if your intended transaction is one in which any escrow of funds is required, you'll need to look for a different closing entity...

After 40+ years of T/S ownership, I am no longer "an owner"

That's who I used to do a transfer to someone here on TUG of a "freebie" that I gave away last year. It went very smoothly and w/o incident.

timesharetransfers.com

I have been contacted by a buyer who wants to use timesharetransfers.com. I have read the other posts and suggested First American Title at www.vacationfirst.firstam.com at their timeshare division in Las Vegas. Has anyone had any experience with First American Title?

Thanks for any help

I am a former realtor, and we used local First American Title offices all the time. If the one you are looking at is part of the nationwide chain, that place should be fine. If it's separate I would investigate more.

I'll just say (...again) that you want no part of timeshare transfers of Boulder, Co. None. Run, run away if your buyer is insisting upon this unreliable and incompetent entity; chances are very good that the "buyer" is also not legitimate if they insist upon this particular "closing" entity.
