On Aug 16 I made an offer for a MVC resale on redweek
On Aug 22 it was accepted
On Sep 6 I received docusign contract and signed
On Sep 11 I was asked to make my deposit ($1k) and did
On Sep 14 I was told we passed Marriott ROFR
On Nov 20 I got closing documents which had a problem (it included 2024 MF and the price was wrong, since they calculated based on estimate vs reality)
On Nov 29 they corrected and we signed and returned with check for full remaining balance to title company
On Dec 8 our check was cashed and title company advised they sent transfer request to MVC and said it will take another 45-60 days to process

That potentially pushes to end of January/early Feb from an offer in August. Is this typical with MVC resales? Is there any nudge I can give to MVC to do the transfer faster? I honestly don’t understand why the process is so slow…

That seems to be pretty long. At least from the time you made the offer to when you received closing documents. Three+ months seems rather unusual.

Redweek really dragged their feet on that one. It usually takes less than 60 days once the transfer paperwork is submitted to Marriott.

Thanks for confirming this is unusual (very frustrating)

Seems like it’s expected for this last step to take up to 60 days, but everything up to this date was unnecessarily slow?

I'm also waiting on Marriott to process the transfer for a Redweek purchase. My timeline was a bit faster though:

9/23 offer made
9/25 offer accepted
10/3 received and signed contract
10/13 passed ROFO
10/27 received and returned closing documents
11/16 deed recorded
11/17 documents sent to Marriott

Redweek is a joke in processing resales. I've done some on Ebay that have been titled in 2-3 weeks (including ROFR), then had to wait for Marriott to process which is totally out of control of the resale parties. Both of the above show 2-3 months for the pre-Marriott-owner-transfer process.

We havent finalized our eBay auction from Buy & Sell timeshares for Willow Ridge 2 bedroom, but are close.

Here’s our timeline:

Auction ended : 9/4
Signed initial documents with closing company (Resort Closings): 9/5
Confirmed passed ROFR: 10/5–not sure when it was sent or received
Signed Closing doc: 10/5
Received invoice for closing: 11/6

We were just asked for our id’s to send to Marriott & should be final soon.

This is about what I had expected. This is our 2nd TS purchase from them & would purchase again.

Shame Redweek hasn’t optimized this - not sure I would buy through them again

What did you end up buying?

Are you blaming Redweek for your delay issues?

Who handled the closing for you?

I believe this should be 100% transferred prior to Xmas. Keep your fingers crossed.
