Sad news. Don't have all the details, but my spouse's dear, elderly aunt just passed oversea this week due to covid complications. Thought we were somewhat out of the woods with this one, at least in terms of seriousness. The first death in the family, unfortunately, comes at a very bad time with holidays coming up.

Thanks for sharing this sad news. Sound liked the United States medical doctors need to encourage the population to be vaccinated with the new/currents COVID-19 Booster Immunization Shots.

Covid is now one of the viral illnesses, like influenza, that circulates constantly. Immunizations can help by preventing illness in some cases and reducing its severity in others, and taking precautions such as washing hands and avoiding crowds can help, but nothing can guarantee that a given individual won’t catch it. And some people are at higher risk for severe disease than others. Those are the basic facts.

@winger I am sorry for your loss. Living in an Old Folks Home, we are quite aware of Covid continuing to be an issue. It is a concern with our older population’s underlying medical issues. Our residents are also affluent, and those who are able still travel. Seems like the prudent thing for us is to give travelers a few days to settle back in and be sure they didn’t bring unwanted germs home with them.
