We are currently in a ThirdHome exchange through our Hyatt timeshare program and we are always so excited to get to see other properties outside the Hyatt timeshare collection. We’ve owned Hyatt for so long and been to almost every property and needed more variety so ThirdHome has been perfect for us.

I have frequently used ThirdHome with other TS but not with my Hyatt TS. The availability has been great and I've had some outstanding exchanges. One thing that seems odd to me, though, is that this is the second posting by a new TUG member touting the ThirdHome exchange program but having no other contributions to TUG; the other was a thread started by @susanflyer about this time of day exactly a week ago. Is ThirdHome incentivizing these postings somehow or otherwise involved in them? It will be interesting to see if there is another on March 28th.

I welcome the discussion and don't care who started it.

I keep getting emails from these people and "keys" deposited in my account. It looks like a glorified version of AirBnb to me.
Unfortunately I never find any properties for the dates and locations I need. Even worse than interval!
It would be great if they had inventory in high demand peak season locations but I think we all know why that is not the case. These are just wealthy 2nd home owners trying to generate a little income while they are out of town.

True but glad seasoned Tuggers put the shill alert on these postings, to avoid newbie TS owners like me, to be sucked into these 'amazing' shiny new objects, thinking these are legit recommended by Tuggers, 'as seen on TUG'....

+1 for not being impressed with 3rd Home. By the time I added up all the fees that are lopped on to an "exchange" I found very little value. I'm not saying there is none there at all, but I get much better value with II trades (despite their ever increasing fees) and it made it hard for me to justify losing a week to 3rd Home just for the extra/more diverse inventory compared to II.

The odd thing for me, I still think it could be a great fit for us. I keep wanting to join, but it all seems so complicated.

I just don't have time to figure out a whole new game and you have have keys to see what you could access.

We've had family cancel nearly last minute to Cabo Azul and were able to get points refunded. Some of these other platforms, you're locked and done.

From what [I've] seen they have no inventory. [Too] many players chasing the vacation home market now.
... interesting. Right now when I log in I see 3,828 weeks available, including 7 at Ritz-Carlton Clubs, 3 at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, and 2 at The Hideaways Clubs. There are also 4 availabilities for a private island in Belize. I've seen a lot more getting added and booked at those as I follow the inventory fairly closely - my overall impression this year is that availability is somewhat higher and more varied than it had been for a couple of years. I do have 6 reservations coming up with them over the next 18 months, including ones in Paris, on the French Riviera, and at an agriturismo in Tuscany. I do agree that this thread and the other on ThirdHome have all of the earmarks of being shills but could not agree less with the assessment of the ThirdHome availability. Of course, it all depends on what you're looking for and how flexible your travel schedule is; I only book with them for places I can't get through II, etc., at a lower cost.

To each their own...you have 6 reservations coming up with them so you clearly like what they have. I have looked multiple times, admittedly not recently, for ski homes with proximity to lifts and it was sparse. Also not looking to trade into another timeshare unit, looking at homes that I can bring my family and extended family. Not sure how its cheaper either with $500-2000 exchange fee. But again, to each their own..

I think it's cheaper if it's something you couldn't otherwise get. Anything you can get on Interval is likely to be cheaper on Interval.
