So I traveled to Westgate Vacation Villas and attended the presentation on 6/26. I was told that the presentation would take 120 minutes however after 4 hours..... I signed the contract (UNFORTUNATELY). On 6/27, I travelled back on worried that I made the wrong decision and immediately started googling about this MISTAKE! I found this website and THANK UUU! Before I found it, I called “Wesley Financial Group” because I kept seeing ad’s on my Facebook and they told me that I might still have time to cancel. I then popped that USB in my laptop and read my contract and it said that I had 10 days to rescind with no penalty! On 6/28, I drafted my letter and sent it certified to westgate. On 7/1 the letter was delivered and on 7/2 the closing sales rep called me and left a voicemail but I DIDNT call back! Today I got a email with a “new” cheaper contract and I DIDNT respond lol thanks to this forum… I AM SAVED!

You should post how much you were going to pay so Brian can update the money saved thread. Also, congrats on dodging a bullet with Westgate! If you were interested in timeshares at all, go to the buying / selling forum here and see what resale can get you for pennies on the dollar - with much better systems than Westgate if I understand correctly.

Kind of shocked that Wesley Financial Group gave you this advice without charging you thousands of dollars for it.

You could buy something else for under $1,000-$4,000, closing costs included, with better maintenance fees and excellent trading power.

The villa cost $16000 and I paid $300 down payment and an additional $50 for that travelers program. The negotiation was $9000 for the villa.

True however I thought maybe it was because I spoke with them 3 days after I signed the contract so they couldn't offer services unless I passed the recission period right?
