The'M*A*S*H*'Episode That Earned the Most Backlash From Viewers

I’ve never thought of backlash with any MASH episode. I can see from the title that this is what I consider one of the best episodes ever. Just because McLean Stevenson wanted to leave the show doesn’t make the episode backlash worthy.

I remember thinking, "Now, that's a real downer."
But that's why they kill off TV characters: "You
want out, fine. Don't think about coming back."

It's set during a war. When you rotate out, you're not coming back as a tourist. :ROFLMAO:

In war based series like 'Combat' or 'Tour of Duty', you never want to be a 'guest star'.

Yes, but one of the reason's I had read one time is that the producers were not happy with McClean's exit and in spite had the character killed off so that he could not star in a spinoff.
