Two takeaways.

There are way too many bad people in this world.

Justice, if there is any at all, is s l o o o w. They been running this scam since 2017. The FBI began investigating in 2022 and arrests finally made 2025.

The "Vanity Press" scam has been around for decades. While self publishing isn't criminal, scammers prey on the hopes and dreams of aspiring authors. This one was more elaborate with phoney literary agents.
