This song came out the year I graduated high school. I loved it from the first time I heard it on the radio! His voice, the melody, the lyrics, and the orchestral background were just so unusual, yet beautiful and moving to me. I enjoy it as much now as I did then. I still have the original 45 rpm in my vinyl collection.
