My son & I just returned from 3 nights at the R.F. We went on "Bonus Time", since I own there. I do understand that B.T. is whatever they have available. We had rented a studio, but it was much smaller than I had imagined, plus it was a handicap room, meaning no tub, just a huge shower stall. When I had checked in, and even when I placed the reservation I had asked for something larger, well nothing. The next morning I expressed to the lady at the desk how unhappy I was. Of course her hands were tied, since in reservations it did show nothing. Alexis Bairstow happened to be walking by, & saw I was unhappy. He is the Resort Operationn Manager. He went to the back offices, checked on something, & returned with a smile. He was able to give my son and I a 1 bedroom on the 1st floor, with easy beach access. I bought my 2 bedroom there 5 years ago, by one of their salesman. That I have no comment about. Alexis was able to explain the increased maintenance fees & assessment fees to me. Alexis is an asset to the Royal Floridian. I would also like to say the whole staff are GREAT! Thank you Royal Floridian!

We also own at the Royal Floridian and are generally pleased with the resort.
But must say that I'm not at all happy about the special assessment. The bottom line reason for the assessment - cash flow problems due to owners delinquent with their maintenance fees. The solution - charge the owners who pay their bills a bit more. Doesn't quite seem right to me.
