Behind a paywall.

What is going to happen in the future with thousands of air traffic controller’s are not in their towers and thousands of federal workers that once inspected the airlines industries are not on the job?

The expectation is this will not be the outcome of the chaos currently going within the agency of the FAA
The script kiddies of DOGE will not create an outcome such as you describe
If this type of an outcome comes to pass
The airlines industry as we know it will be in bad shape
Nobody will be on schedule
We could have accidents and casualties
Let us hope that this is not what happens

"a remote line described as a "long extension cord"—that connects the radar for air traffic above Newark Airport to the air traffic controllers in Philadelphia"

How stupid can writers and readers get? I was just laughing with my son half way across the world talking via wifi with instant communications, that there was no internet when I was in college.

I thought we had evolved as a society intellectually. I thought we were as low as we could get 5 years ago, and yet, we keep outdoing ourselves. Stupid is, as stupid does[/is].

Would be nice of you to provide insight to an article, rather than copy and paste the title of an article behind a paywall.

What's causing delays at Newark airport? What to know about air traffic control equipment and staffing issues

My apologies for posting an article behind a paywall. Here's an informative article not behind a paywall.

Being a bit political? Does that belong here?
This is a travel/ safety issue.

The failures of the Air Traffic Control System has been coming for years. Numerous Administrationsmhave ignored the needed upgrades.

I didn't realize the ATC were not in the airport where the planes were landing / taking off from TBH. It seems hugely more complicated and hard to keep a remote connection secure and available. Maybe AI will save us, cause we certainly refuse to employee or upgrade the ATC. Also, why aren't the airlines coming up with something? Canceling flights presumably costs money right?

ATC is a Federal thing. Not controlled by Airlines.
