Here is an iconic commercial from Bell Canada from many years ago that always moved me. It is a young man calling his grandfather to say thanks from the shale beach at Dieppe, France, site of the disastrous Battle of Dieppe raid by mostly Canadian troops on August 19, 1942.

I have stood on that beach and at the Canadian memorial just above the seawall. On the evening of Memorial Day, my respects to all my American cousins who have given their lives in the defence of freedom. May they RIP. Lest we forget.
