I just booked my first reservation using 'the app'. (Downloaded (Club Wyndham) to my iphone from the App Store).

First, thank you TUG - I would not have been aware there was one otherwise.

Seems like a pretty decent experience. I appreciate logging in using face recognition. I'll definitely be using it more than my desktop. Available dates seem to function as they should, where they are flawed on the desktop (desktop often shows unbookable days).

I haven't noticed much discussion on this and wonder is this a good place to provide feedback?

* I miss the desktop feature of easily switching from one resort to another (from the calendar view) - any tips on that?
* Too bad that after selecting dates on the calendar we have to select to save those dates before searching, maybe that's a mobile technology thing?

Any tips overall on using the app?

Thanks!

Yes - this is the future for Wyndham really - there will be more and more emphasis on the mobile app best guess - as opposed to the website itself. I should create a section in the Wyndham FAQ for the mobile app specifically - I'll add this to my to-do list.

Is the feature for switching between resorts available on the mobile website? If not, then I wouldn't anticipate it will become available within the mobile app either. It's likely a screen real estate issue of sorts. I just tried it and while I see the drop-down - I cannot change anything in the selection box - but perhaps that's just me?

Not sure what you're referring to with regard to having to save the dates before searching? It's a step-by-step process by design - given the limited real estate - this approach also minimizes the interaction with the back end - which improves performance.

As someone with bad eyesight, I don't like being forced to use an app, and the associated small screen you have to use. I hope they don't abandon the website. Also as most timeshare owners trend older, they like using websites over phones.

I'm with you! There is a comfort level that comes, for me, with using my desktop for certain things. Like banking transactions. I am comfortable with booking on the app, but will likely revert to my desktop to cancel. That's just me.

* Changing resorts - I think we are seeing the same thing - too bad the resort name isn't a selectable drop-down (it is on the website and so easy to check multiple locations once you are on the calendar (on the desktop)). That wouldn't be a real-estate issue would it? It's there on the mobile app - just static. Maybe I'll get better at it (hope so) but klugy changing resort search criteria.

* Changing dates - I see your point (less backend interaction). I can live with it :)

* Booked and tried to cancel same day on the app yesterday - on the app it said I would forfeit the (bonus time) payment. Even though there was a reimbursement summary. I was able to cancel on my desktop (without the message I would forfeit).

* I booked a reservation that was bonus time (barely) it was 1/11 midnight ET, I had to wait until 1am ET to book a 1/25 bonus time reservation. I am CT (maybe it was making me wait until midnight my time)? It shouldn't have. Advantage to my east coast friends :)

* I wish there was a home key? I seem to have to use my back key a lot to get to a point I can search again. Can I view my transaction log and owner info? I need to play around more, but I wasn't finding everything I needed. I was looking for a home key and/or a hamburger :)

* LOVE logging in (facial recognition - yay) and being able to do a quick search. My 30-something nephew was thrilled to hear there was an app.

Has anyone found how to get to RCI on the app?

Can you instead use the RCI app and login directly there? Perhaps the RCI app doesn't support club accounts like the website can?

You could be right but thought I might be missing it.

I tried this earlier today, and I don't think you can. If you go to Profile->Deposits, you see the option to deposit points, but not the option to explore resorts.
Thanks for reply I thought I might be missing it.

RCI isn't supported within the app to the best of my understanding - nor is there a launch point to get there - at least not that I could find yet. There's also no RCI app in the Apple appstore at present - which likely explains why there's no link to it.

I'd do it all in the app - it's calling the same routines that the website uses - the only difference is it's doing it from within the app as opposed to on the website. I almost never use banking websites - I always use the apps unless there's something I need to do that's not supported within the app itself of course.

They won't abandon the website - all of the app functions are merely website functions - at least today. That's why many of the newer features were introduced on the website over the past six months - because those same features were targeted for the app - so they had to be introduced via the website first. I'm merely saying that from a development standpoint - it's a cloud first mobile first world out there - so SaaS / mobile will always be the focus moving forward - for almost every consumer facing company at least.

Interesting. I still have the RCI app from when it was available (I wonder why they took it down?) and while I can log into it with my original RCI credentials, it can't (and never could be) used with Wyndham points in RCI, only RCI weeks and cash vacations.
