I was glad to go back and read anything I missed on the Colosseum and Vatican due to noisy grandkids and my earbuds popping out of my ears constantly. I realized I should buy a better pair for future tours. The ones the tour company had were hard plastic and not really good for my ears. The things wouldn't stay in at all. So I went with my own, only to discover that the cushion pieces were not staying in my ears well, either.
Fortunately, I am a visual person, so reading after the tours was fine, including the one in Pompeii. But our guy in Pompeii was incredible. I cannot believe we lucked out in getting this guy for our private tour. He was fantastic.
