Hello all! We have just exchanged into the Bliss (2bedroom) on an AC for our daughter's spring break week. Just wondering if you all have any tips about the resort and/or recommended activities while we are there. We are aware we likely won't have access to the resort beach club, but there are plenty of beach clubs in PDC area that we are interested in going to, so that's ok. I am curious about whether anyone might have any favorite beach clubs to recommend? Any supermarkets close to the resort that are recommended? Are there still shuttles offered to PDC? How difficult is it to reserve a palapa at the pool? Any other advice or tips are greatly appreciated! We are excited -- it's been more than 20 years since we've been to RM. I'm sure it has changed a lot.

We are pros at avoiding sales presentations, so no worries there. I have read their sales presentations are murder, lol.

Just my 2 cents here - Riviera Maya has been our favorite of the Vidanta Resorts - the main pool is huge, and we've never had an issue finding seating for medium sized groups - the Palapa's can be reserved through he concierge and once again - we've never had any problems with reserving them so long as you plan ahead.
There are several shuttles that run into PDC, we usually opt for a private shuttle and then taxi back from town, Walmart is available for cheaper groceries and almost every taxi will offer to wait for a small fee.
Activities to try - we've loved doing the Tamascal - think Mayan Ceremonial Sweat Lodge, Cenote swim, and a local dinner at a Mayan village (early evening event that finishes late into the evening) Coco Bongo - opt for the VIP if you are into night club scene. Fishing, Isla Mujeres day trip, and of course the various ruins. If you are traveling with kids - look at Xacrete just don't plan on going if there is a holiday happening, the lines become very Disney'esque for all activities

Bumping this to see if anyone has beach club recommendations? Restaurants in Playa del Carmen?

When we took our family years ago, the 'kids" who were young adults, took the ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel and rented scooters and went to a beach that was recommended by the Concierge. They had a wonderful day.

Thanks! We are definitely going to Cozumel this time around, because we didn't get to do that our last trip.

Was there free transportation to resort, I believe in the past it was offered.
