So thinking ahead to 2025 reservations, what is the skinny on the Macy’s parade at W57th? Try to get a room with a view of 6th Ave (Penthouse balcony, a couple of the 1BR premiere rooms?)? Or just staying there as a convenient place to go out in the morning and get a decent spot outside on 6th?

One can get a place on the street BUT there are a LOT of people, all pushing in to get a view. We were there last year, and set up a couple of small chairs early, and people continually pushed in front of us--had to push back a few times just so we could see. But, also met some nice folks, so you need to be prepared for the throngs! Also, it was my first in person parade, and I realized not all the floats/performances actually do the whole parade, so there were times nothing happened, and you waited for a balloon or float to go by. We set up on 57th, but 6th would have been better view (with even more people pressure).

We have a unit on the front of West 57th reserved for this year if the weather is not good.

Otherwise we will brave the street. We are new to Parade so also appreciate recommendations on best view.

I heard you can also watch them prep for parade the day prior but do not know where to look for location, time etc. Websites welcome.

Do u own in NYC? If so you need to book early because all the HGVCs are booked by owners for Thanksgiving and have been booked for several months so little chance of trading in with Club.

For the most part anywhere along the parade route offers a good view. If you get out early and get in front you’ll see everything but even if you don’t you’ll see the floats and balloons.

That said, they usually just walk along. They often but not always perform at Columbus Circle. And always perform in front of Macy’s on Herald Square…but that’s a very different level of difficulty (unless you have an ‘in’ to one of the buildings that overlook the square (or NBC or Macy’s)).

They prepare next to the American Museum of Natural History. Primarily along the south side on W77th St.

A studio on the W 57th St side (closest to 6th Ave and high enough up) can work very well. That is an event week at W 57th so people have to give up their week but it can be done. It was super cold out the time we did it. Would occasionally open the window to hear the bands but that shuts off your heat or AC.

On that note, is there a floor plan available for all the rooms/floors that details wher all the rooms are located on each floor? I haven’t been able to find one.

I don’t think so. I think all the 1 BR and possibly also the 1BR + are on the back side.

Well, I just found out that at least some 1BR + are on the W57th side!

That being said, where my room was (1603) would only have a pretty small section of the 6th street intersection visible from the room.
