I have had a T-Mobile family plan for many years with 5 lines. They sent me an e-mail offering free companion flights in continental US for each line just for renewing my contract which I was going to do anyway.

I just signed up but the deal looks pretty good, no black out dates, book through their travel agent (not one airline), and a form of price matching. I think you can get this for new accounts as well.

I haven't actually booked a flight yet but it looks promising. Current T-Mobile users who renew or new accounts may get this. Some people may want to look into this. I think the offer ends Dec. 24th.

Since it's essentially free, it may be great for existing customers planning to renew. Maybe not so good as a reason to change to T-Mobile.

Your paid ticket has to be at "full fare", based on the "zone chart". Those fares are quite high and don't include the $12.75 booking fee per ticket or any of the various airline, airport and government add-on fees and taxes.

There are also a number of restrictions. Examples: You can't make any changes (dates, flights, routing, etc.) to the tickets through the booking agent once you have made the reservations. You have to hope the airline will allow changes for these types of tickets. Also, many secondary airports (e.g., Eugene, OR and Green Bay, WI) are not on the restricted list of allowable departure and destination cities.

New accounts are eligible. Just go to www.t-mobile.com and you'll see the offer. Be sure to look carefully at all of the FAQs / T&C (at my first link) before deciding it is worthwhile to change your current service.

As I mentioned, there is price matching. The grid is not the only possible price. What they say they will do is match any verified lower price plus 15%. Today, getting any flight for a good price has restrictions. I really don't know how this will work out but I basically had nothing to lose.

We have had T-mobile for 9 months so far on a family plan. T-mobile worked fine for us down the street but we moved 1/2 mile away on the same street and now can't get service inside our house. We contacted T-mobile and they don't care in fact my son went with another plan now because he got so fed up. We will leave T-mobile the day our plan is up.

If your home is relatively new, it's possible the problem is with your home, not with T-Mobile. Many newer homes have a metallic shield inside the roof to save on energy costs and/or keep the home cooler on warm/hot sunny summer days. My new home has such a shield. I didn't realize it would block cell reception until I talked to the builder after moving in!

Is this where wifi enabled phones come in handy? If you have wifi at home, your phone would be able to make calls on the wifi?

BOGUS "Free" companion tickets from T-Mobile

What a total JOKE!! If you go through the process and actually search for flights, the price they quote you for ONE ticket is TWICE as much as you would pay directly through the airline or expedia, etc. This is NOT A FREE TICKET OFFER and I want to report T-Mobile to the BBB!! I consider it fraud!
