I thought I read somewhere here that you could get 15000 S/O credit towards elite statis in SVO if you owned another brand of T/S. Can anyone confirm this?

I found out that when we were in WKORV that you have to be 3* first...and then they would ( said they would for us) credit your outside timeshare towards getting to 4*. Not a god deal for us! We would have had to pay $60,000 for EY OV at the new North resort we already own a EOY at WKORV. It would be a waste of $$. Hopefully we will be buying a EY OV resale.

This is a very interesting topic. I am a 3 star elite but would love to get to 5 star. I have a sdo week I bought on ebay a ways back that eventually I would like to qualify in Starwood through an additional purchase. I also have a 2 bedromm westin club regina cabo raintree week that maybe some day might be part of svn. I also own enough non starwood timeshares that at 15000 points a pop could take me to 5 star status. Do you think I could negociate one new decent developer week and add eveything up to get to 5 star, if I made that a condition of the new sale?

All they could say is no! Don't say you read TUG or let on that you've heard about anything here, then they certainly won't give you anything! But they do follow tug.

I'd be surprised if they gave you credit for for all of your outside timeshares...they don't want to give away 5*, i'ts permanent plat status afterall, they want you to earn it with Starwood developer sales!

From what I've read they should requalify your resale Starwood ...an EY for an EY dev. purchase, EOY for a EOY dev purchase.

Good Luck!

Yes, there is an up to 30,000 StarOPTION credit towards ELITE status that can be given for a non-SVO timeshare ownership. The non-SVO timeshare must be titled and owned by the same SVO owner.

There is a specific form to do this. HOWEVER, THIS CREDIT IS GIVEN AS PART OF A DEVELOPER PURCHASE AGREEMENT. You would have to make this credit a part of your developer purchase. So, if you own a non-SVO timeshare and intend on making a Developer purchase this is something you can ask for.

Usually, this credit towards ELITE is given to make the sale AND when you need up to an additional 30,000 StarOptions to get to the next ELITE level.

NOTE: You MUST get this form included as part of your Developer purchase agreement. Again, do not sign a purchase contract without this form attached. It cannot be done retroactive.

Is it a maximum of 30K SO credit per owner, or can that be done per non-SVO timeshare? Is it 30K for one or 15K for one?

Do you think someone who is requalifying a resale can also negotiate this into the deal for their non-SVO timeshare?

How interesting!

Remember, in Maui they told me we had to be 3* FIRST. I bet it's only to get people to 4* because they aren't giving away very much for that. For 5* they are giving lifetime platinum. If anyone was granted 5* this way I'd sure like to know!

It's a one-time offer that can only be done once.

It does not matter how many non-SVO timeshares you own. (think about it - geeezzz, if I buy 19 timeshares on e-bay for $1 then I can get to 5* elite real fast.....NOT!)

Yes, you can add this to a resale requalify when you make a Developer purchase. However, I do not believe you can ask for this UNLESS you are less than 30,000 StarOptions away from the next ELITE level. The intent is to get you to the next level with the current Developer purchase.

If we went ahead with our purchase we would have been between 3 and 4* if they gave us the 30,000 points for our non Starwood timeshare so it's a bit of a boost.
