Ya gotta love reality TV. All that buildup about a medical emergency and it just turns out to be Bruce not being able to poop.:whoopie:

Sounds like a major medical emergency to me!

*bleep* happens, except when it doesn't happen.

I wonder what was the cause of his clogged condition. Not enough fiber in his diet? And they said his bladder was clogged...so he couldn't pee either?

Yeah, seemed a little hyped. But actually, that can be life threatening. I'm trying to think of what could cause both to stop. Usaually they are entirely separate things, bowel obstruction and urethral stricture. I am wondering if the bowel obstruction could have put pressure on the prostate?

Or maybe his kidneys shut down due to dehydration. Dehydration would have caused the bowel obstruction as well. That seems the most likely to me.

Anyway you look at it, it sucked to be him.:bawl:

Well, if it were a real "survivor" situation without the cameras and offshore med-evac team, isn't it possible if not even probable that his condition could have proven fatal? That's life-threatening in my book. I certainly agree that reality tv goes the extra mile to make mountains out of molehills for the sensationalism of it all (recently some of our closest friends were featured on Wife Swap...oh boy! was that a lesson!!!) but Bruce was certainly in a lot of pain and if it had been his appendix causing it then time was not on his side.

I do feel bad for him that it ended that way but at least he didn't get stabbed in the back by his buddies as they voted him off.

Finally got around to watching the episode and I hadn't read the thread or anything on it. Seemed like a pretty serious situation to me. It can't be healthy to have all that "stuff" backed up in your system - I'm sure it would cause some sort of massive infection.

Anyway, it gives Terry a buy for the week, and Cerie makes me laugh. She's so good-natured about the whole thing. So I hope they make it to the final three or four at least.

And Shane using a piece of wood as his Blackberry next week? He may be the next medical emergency to go!!

I wish you wouldn't have posted the spoiler thread title. Some of us watch the show after you.

How is this thread title a "spoiler"? It was in all the upcoming previews for the show this past week.

What was the lesson? Did you learn anything new about your friends and do you think the show made up things?

Has anyone seen the next morning interview with Bruce, and if so did he say anything about the emergency and what was actually going on?

I guess I didn't see the previews, so I didn't know about the medical emergency, but I knew something was going to happen after browsing the thread titles.

When I post tv show threads, I just use the name and date of the showing so the title doesn't give anything away. Just a friendly suggestion.

Actually, those previews were shown at the end of the "recap" show, so it turned out to be two weeks ahead of the show that you knew someone was going home (and I had guessed that it was going to be Bruce).

I would like to see him come back for another go-round. He certainly deserves it more than that whiny Bobby Jon (?--the one who came back with Stephanie).
