Arriving at 10:30PM at PHX. Has anyone ever used the Super Shuttle Van service (Those Big Blue Vans) to travel to the area hotels and timeshare resorts in and around Phoenix?

Would like to know your experience, and reliability of the Super Shuttle Service?

I haven't use Super Shuttle in Phoenix, but I'm pretty sure Super Shuttle is what I used at the Orange County airport, and dd uses them all the time to get to and from the Tampa airport. We've had no problem at all with them. I've always booked ahead online.

My DS and 3 of his buddies flew to Phoenix for an NFL game last Jan. They were too young (18) to rent a car and were arriving on different flights so we booked them on Super Shuttle. No problems, DS was the first one there and he took a shuttle van to the hotel and waited for his friends. Then on the return they all took a shuttle together back to the airport. It was reliable and I would use them again. I can't remember the price but it seemed reasonable, especially compared to the cost of renting a car.

I forgot to add the PM to my 10:30 arrival. I found a $3 online coupon. $27 for 1st pax, $7 for the 2nd. With the coupon it is $31 to Marriott Canyon Villas.

Here is my logic. Getting in late and after dark in an unfamiliar airport and locality. The fees at PHX are a total Highway Robbery as most of you experienced Tuggers already know. I got a mid size rental at the JW Marriott for $190 including all fees, taxes, and a return to PHX Sky Harbor upon departure. So I figure with my tip and any extras the Super Shuttle will cost about $40. Total transportation cost before fuel $230.

Right, dd gets miles for United. Also if you book online I think you can get a slight discount. You can also prepay the tip if you want.

Great plan! I'll have to remember this option next time I visit the Phoenix area. The rental car taxes at the airport can double (or more) the price of a rental car there.

Used many times

At least five and always on time. They have some old vehicles with several hundred thousand miles but they seem road worthy.Good idea renting at the resort instead of airport robbery.

Used Super Shuttle in the SF Bay area. Good Service from SFO to Palo Alto although we did have to wait a while ~20 Minutes for the pick up.

Cheers
