Sunrise Lodge / Valdoro Fixed Week vs. Floating

I'm looking at a couple resale deeds at both Sunrise & Valdoro and was wondering if anyone has experience/success booking over New Years with a floating platinum deed. There are a couple week 52 deeds out there, but they are asking a premium for them. I have 4 kids at 4 schools with 4 different schedules for breaks so flexibility on booking doesn't work for me. I'm really looking to book during winter break for the foreseeable future. I would prefer Sunrise over Valdoro as I don't care about the added summer week. Does anyone know if HGVC (or the previous owner/operator) sold the equivalent of all the rooms as a set week for week 52? I'm trying to gauge the possibility of getting that week with a floating week or if I just have to pony up and get the fixed week. Any advice is appreciated.

I own at Valdoro and tried for Christmas and New Year's a few times with my floating ski week and never been able to reserve that time.

There's a reason those Week 52 deeds sell at a premium. If that's the only week I could go, I would not roll the dice on a floating deed.

I have floating winter (ski season) platinum 2BR deed at Sunrise and 3BR deed at Valdoro. There are 10 3BR rooms at Valdoro. Last there I believe there were two floaters during New Years week. This year I didn't see any. I haven't tried to book my Sunrise unit during New Years. So, I can not help you there. If you haven't purchased when New Years rolls around again, ping me and I can look.

I own a floating platinum wk and a fixed wk 7 at Sunrise lodge. I tried to book Christmas or New Years this year using my floating week - but there was no availability.
I’ve noticed there is availability for wk 7 at 12 months out, but only for the studio unit

I can only comment on HGVC Sunrise Lodge and I was monitoring ski weeks for 2025 and New Year Week and President Week sold out before any of the other weeks, but I did not measure how fast they sold out.

Honestly, if you want a Christmas or New Year or President week ski week, you probably need to buy a fixed week to guarantee success. Don't forget about the Marriott and other resorts too.
