First visit to Sunrise Lodge, and so far so good. Our 1 BR Plus (Lockoff to 3 BR) is different than expected though, and thought I'd pass along the learnings.

In both Classic and Revolution, the 1BR Plus are listed as having 2 bathroom and no washer/dryer. But...our room (348A) is more like a Premium, in that it's a 2 story room on the 3rd/4th floor with pretty decent views (a plus). Except it has only one bathroom, located upstairs with no tub (a minus). A bonus is that there is a washer dryer in the entryway shared with the room next store (348B).

I asked about it at the front desk, and they said that all of their 1 BRs are really quite different from each other (1 or 2 BA, single or two stories, balcony or not, etc.) Probably worth calling ahead for any specific requests in advance...

p.s. Not much snow here.

Thanks for Info

Hello Donna,

We are staying at Sunrise this January in a 1 B.R. unit and I am curious what the rooms are like and what a good request might be. In theory since I am elite premier I can request a particular unit but I have no frame of referance to make a request with. Did you take any pictures or have any suggestions on a unit that might be nice ?

Thank you,
David Weber

I dont have any photo's but have stayed at this resort about 4 times since it opened up. All the 1 bedrooms we have received have been all over the map. This used to be a residential resort that was merged into HGVC. Some of the larger units where chopped up into smaller ones and I think that is why its all over the map. The top floor unit we had one time was great it had vaulted ceilings and was more like a real 1 bedroom unit with the studio door. Once we had one where we entered into a lobby where the washer and dryer was located and a door to the right went to the living room and kitchen and the other door went to a small bedroom. It was rather strange but we did have a shower and restroom in the kitchen side and a standard tub with no shower in the bedroom side. Its a nice resort and we enjoy it but I dont get why it has a higher point structure, its along the same lines as all the other resorts in quality and deer valley and park city have much nicer resorts, this is just a normal resort in the canyons area. Overall its a nice resort and we enjoy having one within an hour or so drive away.

Looks very nice!!! So where is sunrise lodge???

Its at the Base of the Canyons resort. Basically between the Olympic park and Park City. Main Street is about a 5-10 min drive away depending upon traffic. Deer Valley is about 5 min away from that so its right in the ski area, its at the base of one of the Canyons lift. Vail now owns Park City and I believe the new lift connecting the resorts is open so now you can ski all over.

OK thanks;

Just got back from a stay here where we stayed in a 1 BR Plus (#173A), 2BA, with washer dryer.

Overall, very pleased with the resort. Prior reviews about the wall and ceiling thinness are accurate, but it wasn't too bad. We were also in an end unit that didn't have people on one side and the living room was in between us and the next unit, so that provided some good buffer.

I've also read some comments about the mandatory valet parking, and we chose to not rent a car. Shuttled from the airport easily enough and took free shuttles into town at night to eat on occasion. Very easy to get around. There's some great snow now and we had 10 inches over the last two days we were there.

I stayed in the 2BR Plus two years ago.
The room is the 1st floor 136A (1BR)/136B(STU).
The photos which I took in those days is here ↓.

Nice photo album. Always good to get an idea of what a resort is like through individual photo's as timeshare companies put so few photo's on their websites.
