Anyone walking away from summer bay timeshare paid in full because of excessive fees??

I left there today
I have multiple friends walking away from summer bay

Did they get sent to collections or did summer bay just foreclose??

One is in process for 6 months now
Still no paperwork only constant phone calls
The other two spoke to management while they were there … got no where with them other than them trying to sell them more things
They both also called main office etc, neither received a buy bank offer or cost to get out offer, so they are simply going to stop paying etc
One is Canadian
So it will be interesting to see how things play out

Reports seem to indicate that is only from one of the many associations (lakeside homes? or townhouses) at Summer Bay. Not sure if other associations have a similar assessment.

I don't think the meetup or this thread is really the best venue for questions about getting out of your timeshare. You should be posting these types of questions as a new thread in the Buying, Selling & Renting Timeshares forum.

Unfortunately, Summer Bay Orlando is an Exploria property and they are one of the worst to work with. Most people just opt to default on paying the maintenance fees and walk away.

Summer Bay was the first timeshare we stayed at. My sister gave it to me as a RCI trade back in January 2006. We loved the stay and even went to a sales presentation, but was smart enough to not buy. I will always have a spot in my heart for it but am glad I never purchased there.

We stay there every year via RCI exchange
Prefer the villas building 500s
Love the houses but they are hard to get.
The reserve at 601 used to be amazing but recently they have reduced the amenities, no more free breakfast or wine and cheese u less your on the upper floors .. sad
