That seems pretty cool, though 15 days is not much time out to book, even RCI Last Calls (and this rental forum) is 45 days. But for driving range things could be a decent deal.

I would be a bit surprised to see major increases in the pricing. This can't be a substantial source of income for Wyndham, after all; it's just last minute availability that no one wanted to book further in advance - if they try to do much more than cover the costs they wouldn't be likely to sell it. It seems to me that the $5 would cover at least close to the cost of the points, if you accept CWA costs as a baseline for developer-owned inventory, less the developer's percentage/management fees, so a more true cost of the inventory that would otherwise be what Wyndham loses by leaving it empty.

I also kind of wonder how they will manage gaming of bonus time (e.g., cancellation at 15 days to rebook at 14 as bonus time). Delayed return of the availability to inventory would impact the ability to fill it. Other systems limit it to some extent by prohibiting cash booking of the same unit type for the same dates as a previously held reservation (open season in HGVC).

Bonus time might also make purchasing points protection attractive for folks that have higher cost points. There would be some point at which it would be cheaper to shift from a normal reservation to bonus time, if available, and cancel inside of 15 days to recover the points for use elsewhere; another form of rebook and cancel.

For anyone who didn't see the recent post updates effective 1/17/2025:

Figured I would start here in this thread - regarding the new Wyndham mobile app. I am now connected to the Wyndham product managers directly responsible for the app itself, in addition to the product managers responsible for the website development. Yes, they work together, but there are resources dedicated to each area from a product ownership standpoint. Couple of important items I wanted to socialize here to start.

One, for anyone who is a Worldmark owner, I can confirm that a Worldmark mobile app is in development and that Wyndham intends to release this app in Q2 2025 timeframe, though to be clear this timeline is subject to change. Same concept as the current Wyndham mobile app, just specific to the Worldmark timeshare system.

Two, we need to start identifying features that we would like to see in the Wyndham mobile app specifically as we look ahead. Personally, I find I'm using the Wyndham mobile app more and more frequently, and I'm using the website less frequently. It could just be me, but I'm also finding that the mobile app seems to be less problematic, and delivers more accurate availability search results. Early on there was a known issue with the mobile app not displaying Worldmark Club Pass inventory when using a certain type of search within the mobile app, but that issue appears to have been resolved now. I'd also like to share a few known focus areas for the Wyndham mobile app as follows:
  • Local event highlights near your resort
  • Easy access to resort activities
  • Build-your-own onsite itinerary
Probably my biggest ask surrounds automation and enhancing the ownership experience. I want phone/watch key first. There's no reason today that the app cannot be used as a phone key, and the introduction of a watch app would allow for replacing the wristband entirely - because your watch is your key. I may not always have my phone handy, but my wearable Apple Watch is always on my wrist. Once the phone key is available, there's literally no reason, when the above three bullets are implemented, to have to ever check-in in person ever again. Remote check-in via the app - automatic room assignment - phone/watch key - done. Sure, it's likely a pie in the sky ask because this bypasses the all important concierge desk - but hey - a guy can dream right?

What other ideas do TUGGERs have for the mobile app? Please list them out here. I will also post this same update into the mobile app thread for additional visibility.

There is a reason to make you check-in in person - to sign you up for an update of important information regarding your ownership and allow you to further invest in it. What were you thinking???!!! Maybe if they could sign you up on the app....

Is it a fair 'ask' that they update their website updates when they do an update?
(this place: https://clubwyndham.wyndhamdestinations.com/us/en/resorts/resort-news/new-website-updates )
They updated mid-March - maybe the 16th? It was posted they would be down and they were, but there are not updates posted here.

At midnight-ish -- you can no longer make any modifications to a reservation on the website - traveler's name - nor can you cancel a reservation. The button/links to do so are gone. You used to (erroneously) have the ability to still try to add days to a reservation - past the 2-ish day time limit on doing so. That option has now also been removed (guessing mid March but not 100% sure). Maybe when 'fixing' that they messed up updating the travelers's name and being able to cancel a reservation. Similar issue on the app but it happens around Noon the day of checkin (I'll post that in the app thread).
