Steve Weisz to retire as CEO on Marriott Vacation Club. WOW! The end of an accomplished legacy.

It appears the new CEO will be John Geller. He has a finance background and spent most of his career on the hotel side of the business. I'm a little concerned about his potential impact on MVC owners. He was responsible for IT, which has been a disaster. He also appears to have been more involved with Investment relations than the timeshare operation side of the business. Having worked in the corporate world for almost 50 years on the Marketing and R&D areas, these types of people often ignore the concerns of owners and employees and only care about investors and short term ROI.

I got a similar impression on an overview summary of his accomplishments, especially the part that said
" most recently helped lead the completion of the Welk Resorts acquisition and revitalizing the Hyatt Vacation Ownership business. "

If you look at the Hyatt forum, most Tuggers pan the ongoing Hyatt Portfolio program, and say how Hyatt is tone-deaf to the requests of the Sunset Harbor BOD.

Yeah, if he is responsible for the mess they have at Hyatt, he certainly isn't a good pick. Of course, thought has long been that they have just been fattening up Hyatt Residence Club to sell it off to someone else.
