Newbie (first post) needs help in understanding how to offer to rent floating weeks at HGVC. I have read the FAQ, but it appears only to deal with determining how much to ask and how to post that you have isomething to rent. How exactly does one work it with Hilton? What steps are needed?

1. Do I book the week first under my name account?
2. How is HGVC notified someone else will be staying?
3. Is there a contract that needs to be drafted?
4. What are my liabilities?
5. Does Hilton allow/acknowledge/support such activity?

So many questions, including is this the right forum to ask?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

First, Read the TUG advice at the top of this board for the advice on renting your TS LINK

1. Do I book the week first under my name account?

2. How is HGVC notified someone else will be staying?
After you and the renter come to an aggrement, you reserve the room using your account and get a guest certificate from HGVC. (This is the same as notify HGVC.)

3. Is there a contract that needs to be drafted?
Most people feel that you should have some kind of rental agreement. There are some sample rental aggreements here on TUG.

4. What are my liabilities?
Since this is your guest, you will have some liability, but when someone checkin to the TS, they will be asked to give HGVC a credit card to cover charges or damages. So that should give you some cover.

5. Does Hilton allow/acknowledge/support such activity?
I don't know. Sorry

Hope this helps

Thank you Bill. Yes, it does help. My liability concerns stem from it being Spring Break. I checked with Hilton, and they confirmed the guest registration.

Best regards
