Hello all. We have a trip planned in April and am staying at SVV. I just called and they no longer provide shuttle service to DisneyWorld or nearby attractions.

What are most people doing out here when visiting? Car rental, i-trolley, or uber/Lyft?

Our main purpose is DisneyWorld and everything else after. 8-day stay

I am thinking of doing Lyft I don't have to pay for a daily rental plus parking fees.

Thankyou in advance

TL

I was just in Las Vegas (so not Orlando) but had a similar quandary - some in my party rented a car, I was going to do Uber. There are a lot of moving parts, but the main one is where and how many trips would you make a day? If you're just going to Disnay and back so 2x trips a day, then if UberXL was costing similar amounts to short trips in Vegas, that is a win - it would be around $45 a day, whereas my decent rental price plus parking worked out to more like $130 if I only went to one place with paid parking. Where it quickly becomes more complicated is if you're not basically replacing a shuttle - i.e. if you've got 2 groups of people who want to do different things, and want to go out to dinner somewhere other than the park that $45 a day easily becomes $120 with 6 trips. If you want to drive out an hour or more to some place else, I think Uber either won't go, or if it's like my Uber in London to the airport become $110 for that one trip.

Usually when I'm "in a city" and I plan to not "leave the city" then I Uber or taxi or whatever. And I can't do the math for you cause IDK what Uber prices are at any given time, but I was seeing averaging $23 a trip with tip in sub 3 mile trips between Casinos. I also can't say if you'd need UberXL - I do cause I hurt myself getting out of a regular Uber in 2022 and that cost way more than the slight upcharge for a Minivan or SUV.

I am not aware that SVV ever offered a shuttle to any of the Disney parks. Perhaps it was many many years ago. The I-Ride trolly will get you to SeaWorld and Universal Studios. In reality, a car rental or Uber/Lyft are going to be your best options. Personally, unless I was staying on Disney property, I wouldn't go to Orlando without renting a car.

I agree with above - for WDW, either rideshare or rent a car.

You can check rideshare fares in their respective apps - try to check at times you’re likely to travel, such as for opening and/or after fireworks. Be aware that if you’re leaving after fireworks, you may encounter surge pricing, but usually if you wait a little bit the price will go back to normal.

Also be aware that rideshare to the MK drops off at the TTC, and you have to take the monorail or ferry from there to the actual MK entrance. The TTC is where the parking lot trams drop off for MK, so in that respect driving a car is about the same. At the other three parks, the rideshare dropoff location is closer to the park entrance than most of the parking spaces.

Rideshare fees are crazy at park opening times if you do it on demand...make sure to reserve an Uber in advance if you go that route. We've done the Uber thing to Epcot because we drink a bit around the world there, but otherwise we always have a car in Orlando.
