So, once we get the new company, will we still get Starpoints and bonus Starpoints when charging things to the Starwood AE card?

That is not a timeshare issue - that is a hotel issue, and Marriott is taking over the hotel branch, but hasn't yet.

Hi,
I am also interested in this question. I don't understand the answer.
Sue

Starpoints are hotel points - not timeshare points. Marriott is taking over management of the hotel branch of Starwood.

Timeshare points are Staroptions.

May 1, ILG is taking over the timeshare branch, but we don't know when Marriott is taking over.

I understand the difference between Staroptions and Starpoints. But, when we charge something while at one of the timeshares resorts to our Starwood AE, we get double Starpoints credited. Again, will this bonus happen once the new company ILG takes over the timeshare division? Or, will we get any Starpoints at all?

Long term, we are not going to know the answer to this question until Marriott takes over the hotel branch.

To the OP
Because in the future, there might not be any more Starpoints. The currency could all change to Marriott Reward Points.

On the other hand, Ritz Carlton maintains its own point chart and earnings within the Marriott Family. Maybe they will do the same with Starwood Starpoints???

What ILG does with VSE is anyone's guess.

There will be no difference today vs May 1. The properties are all still affiliated with Starwood. Just like all the hotels that are not owned but managed by Starwood, you will still get the bonus for spend on the credit card at these properties after the ILG takeover.
